As you know we always look to come up with fun catchy titles for our blog posts and we don’t usually “talk to our seniors” in the title. But we’re not sorry – we’re doing it because we think it’s fun – like Abby! She’s got just a hint of snark (which we love) to go with her adorable which she also has plenty of. We had a perfect day for her session and it wasn’t the first time she’s appeared on our blog – the first time was for her bat mitzvah just four short years ago! Both of her parents came to the session which also made for a fun time – I (Doug) especially loved Adam trolling me about my lighting assistance for Ally pretty much the whole time. Hehe…. In all seriousness we enjoy Adam and Lorie a lot and have actually known them for many years now going back to when our kids were in elementary school together. So let’s get to Abby’s pics shall we?
Atta Girl Abby!
So Abby is an athlete – a soccer player like her sister Elizabeth but while we did studio soccer pics with her sister, with Abby we took it to the field at WBHS and got some really cool stuff… like this one:
SOOOO COOL!!! Go Lakers!
We also have some fun behind the scenes first from the livestream we did on Facebook Live:
At this point we headed to Birmingham to get some natural photos at Quarton Lake…
Beautiful! Let’s give a shout out here to Francie Fruitman for the makeup, and we also have some more behind the scenes fun this time from Instagram TV!

Easy going is definitely how we would describe Eric – just a low key and really nice guy. Soft spoken but personable with a great mom Tamura, and even lil’ sis joined for his session on a bit of a chilly fall day in Birmingham for his class of 2020 senior pictures! Eric already has some ideas for a career path mapped out and we enjoyed our day with him!
Easy Going Eric
We started in the studio for the yearbook photos and a couple other pics, like this one on one of our wood backdrops!
A fine young gentleman!
And here is the behind the scenes fun we have from the Facebook Live during the studio part of the session!
At this point we headed to Birmingham to get some photos outdoors!
That West Bloomfield Laker green is lookin’ good!
A very cool view of the waterfall as the backdrop for our guy which is usually obstructed earlier in the season.
We’ll leave you with one more on the bridge…
And there you have it! Easy going with Eric indeed and some great highlights with this young man! We hope you enjoyed them!

Highly awesome – yes indeed. A fitting description of this fab senior session with our latest senior Holly – a session that makes us wanna holla! Holly is a West Bloomfield Laker, a soccer player and an all around great girl – we really enjoyed her and her mom Nicole’s company for the perfect day we spent in Birmingham!
Holly’s Highly Awesome…
We focused this entire session on location in Birmingham and we couldn’t have asked for better weather!
Just beautiful!
We have some fun behind the scenes as we like to do as well – first from our live stream on Instagram:
Here’s one in a tree that we’ve used that we seem to be perfectly able to fit a senior in! Haha!
We also have more behind the scenes fun from Facebook:
And here is one with that outfit!
Holly looked amazing and the lush summer flowers and colors make for great sessions at Quarton Lake!
We’ll leave you with one more:
She’s adorable!
And there you have it! Now you see why Holly’s highly awesome session makes us wanna holla! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her and Nicole!

Jordan is a jewel indeed – she came highly recommended from one of our spokesmodels in the class of 2019 and now she’s leading the way at West Bloomfield High School for the class of 2020! We really liked Jordan and her parents Jessica and Doug from the first moment we met them at the studio and we were able to get outdoors for some location photos for her spokesmodel session in Birmingham! We’re excited to share a few – Quarton Lake is a great spot and very popular with our seniors for a reason.
Jordan is a Jewel
We actually started in the studio and got a few images on the black and we love this one so we’ll start with it:
Love it!!!
Now let’s get to Quarton Lake for the location photos – it was really windy which was a bit of a challenge but there were moments where the wind worked in our favor too so let’s take a look…
Really pretty with the backlight and Jordan’s hair getting a little assist from the breeze! We also have some behind the scenes fun first from Facebook Live:
The Spring buds on the trees were just coming in as well which gave us a little pop of color…
Gorgeous…
Moving along taking advantage of different vistas and a few outfit changes which is typical for our senior sessions…
Love that one – framing Jordan nicely!
And we’ll leave you with one more behind the scenes vid from Instagram…
And there you have it! Jordan was a jewel that day and she IS a jewel! We are thrilled to have her representing our studio and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day!

Okay so there’s no such thing really as a “jump shot” in photography terminology. We technically don’t even use the word “shots” often, preferring to call them “photos”. However in this case we’ll make an exception because a “jump shot” IS a basketball term, Jada is a hoopster, and she makes us want to jump (for joy of course) when we have her in the studio, so “jump shots with Jada” it is! Jada’s mom Glenda is a delight as well and we were really happy they picked us!
Jump Shots With Jada
Jada plays guard for the West Bloomfield Lakers and we love photographing athletes so we planned a few photos in her uniform, but before we get to those we played around with multiple colors and outfits all in the studio which is a lot of fun – it gives us a chance to kind of stretch out and experiment a little without having to get going outside at some point:
Okay, she’s adorable…
We also have plenty of fun behind the scenes action – first with the replay of the Facebook LIVE video:
Love that gold… next we moved to the red background with the red couch for this “BOSS” photo…
Just slaying the camera there… OWNING it!!!
Next we brought out the black backdrop and this combo just worked!
Gorgeous.
Now it was time to get out the Laker gear and get some FIRE going… We have some behind the scenes of the hoops photos with the flaming ball too that we streamed on Instagram – don’t try this at home you crazy kids….
And the fiery result:
So cool!!! We loved our jump shots with Jada and we hope you liked the highlights of our day with her!

What can we say about JoJo without gushing with superlatives? Probably nothing, so let’s gush. What a special kid – smart, a total sweetheart, gorgeous, athletic – the list goes on. We just connected with JoJo and her mom Bianca! Even grandma Linda came along and what a day we had. These are some of our favorite photos from the class of 2018 for sure and definitely one of our favorite seniors! You might say the session was dashing – in more ways than one – you’ll see why…
A Dashing Senior Session With JoJo…
We started out in the studio for a few portraits and what a start to the session! We started out with the black and blowy setup and this black and white photo is just so classic… love this!
Next we broke out the pink paper and went live on Facebook Live for some behind the scenes fun – take a look!
And here is the pretty-in-pink result!
She is adorable!
At this point we headed outside for some location photos and here’s a gem:
The actual dashing….
Now here is where the double meaning of the dashing comes into play… JoJo is a sprinter and a good one at that, so we went down to the track to get a few photos in uniform. We fired up the Instagram Live for this and here is the replay from our YouTube channel:
Now here is the coup de grace – an image that is pretty much immediate Frameable Faces ICON status – WOW.
You will likely see this photo in our studio somewhere soon….
And there you have it – a dashing session with JoJo indeed!!! We hope you enjoyed the highlights from our day with her!

I’ve always said when a senior calls the studio themselves and sets up the appointment for their own senior pictures that it’s impressive. Not a HUGE thing per se, but it’s usually an indication that they can take some initiative and get things done and we were impressed with Zaire from the start. What a great kid – even called ahead on the day of the session to let us know he might be a few minutes late, and when I said don’t sweat it he said it was important to him to apologize. That says a lot! As for his mom April she’s great too – she has just a little going on with Zaire’s graduation coming up AND Zaire’s sister graduating from college out of state – she’s stressed! But there’s NO stress here at Frameable Faces! Especially when we’ve got such a great senior to photograph and a great day in Pontiac to do it!
In The Zone With Zaire…
Now we will say that we started briefly in the studio to get a few photos on the grey in Zaire’s suit, and while these turned out just fine we’re only going to show you the fun behind the scenes replay of the Instagram live from our YouTube channel because we just love the location photos so much!
Good times and the dude was looking dapper!
To Pontiac
To Pontiac we went and Zaire kept the nice clothes on for the first set of photos where we got this result:
One of our faves from the session for sure…
At this point we went more casual:
We like the reflection in the glass on that one…
Same outfit, different sidewalk!
We also have more behind the scenes fun with the replay of our Facebook Live video at another cool spot… take a look!
And here is the cool result!
Love that one!
So as you can see we were indeed in the zone with Zaire and had a fantastic time with him – we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day!

When we say we were up and at ’em for some Laker Pride with Jared we aren’t kidding! The first photo you’ll see in these sneak peeks is one you would assume was a night time shot, but it was actually a morning shot before sunrise! The schedule just worked out that way so we said let’s go for it, and you know what? There’s something to be said for that “early to bed early to rise” thing… ha! Meanwhile Jared is a cool dude and his dad Phil joined us who was very helpful having dabbled in some photography himself. Needless to say, it was a memorable morning and the proof is in the portraits.
Laker Pride with Jared…
So for the first shot we headed back to the West Bloomfield High School SWAMP (that’s the nickname for their football stadium) where we’ve photographed a couple of Jared’s teammates this year to get what has become somewhat of a signature football shot of ours – another winner – Jared looks the part for sure!
Looking good – Laker Pride indeed…
Once we got the photos we needed at the Swamp we headed over to Birmingham to take a few city photos and we have a little behind the scenes fun for you starting with the replay of our Facebook Live broadcast:
Here are two of the resulting photos from this segment of the morning:
Big fans of that one… and one more:
Nice!
At this point we brought it back home to the studio to finish up and here is the behind the scenes as Jared donned his letter jacket and showed off a little versatility with a multi-sport approach, and maybe our first shot put photo (?)….
And here is the result!
Awesome stuff. We had one heck of a morning with this guy and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our time with him!

We are on a roll with those West Bloomfield Lakers right now and these sessions have been killer! But more importantly these seniors have been awesome and Justin is no exception. Justin brought the whole fam-tourage with him and everyone had fun. Actually Justin’s mom Christin had been to the studio for her own shots a while back so this was a fun reunion of sorts. Justin was still in the thick of preparing for the football season at “The Swamp” which is the nickname of the West Bloomfield football stadium and we had plans to get some football shots in since football is Justin’s jam – but more on that later….
Starting out in Pontiac…
We wanted to get some cool urban shots first so off to Pontiac we went and found a cool new spot we had never used before – it’s Justin’s spot now (we name new spots after the senior who pioneers it)!
Good lookin’ dude! Plus that lighting! We started in the evening and got some of that golden hour sun…
We also have some fun behind the scenes action from the live streaming we did during the session – first in Pontiac on Facebook Live:
We also grabbed this cool photo with the little mirror image reflection…
Back to the studio for some fire…
We love setting things on fire here as you may know… here’s the behind the scenes from the YouTube Live broadcast – be sure to subscribe to our channel if you visit!
….and here is the fiery result!
Justin’s Jam
Night time sessions are rare for us but sometimes they can be so cool! We headed over to the Swamp where you can see #32 flying around getting it done for those Lakers this fall! A little off camera flash and a stationary FJ Westcott Ice Light and voila!!!
How cool is that? An awesome session all the way around – we hope you enjoyed the highlights of Justin’s jam!

How to build a senior….. Hmmmmm. Well we’d start with some nice, add some smart, toss in a dose of passion, maybe some good looks (but that’s an optional ingredient), and we’d wrap it in a great family before we pop it in the oven to bake. And hey look! It appears we would build Nick! Nick is a guy you just want to be around – just an all around good dude who is smart and dedicated as all get out to his twin passions baseball and football which he plans to play one of at the next level. Heck he took one (?) day off transitioning from one to the other as he readies himself for his senior season as a captain at West Bloomfield playing in “The Swamp” (more on that later). Actually you may remember Nick from his spokesmodel session and you may even remember his sister Emma who was a Frameable senior too! What a great family – and mom Teresa is a delight too – she even reprised her role briefly guest hosting some of the behind the scenes live streaming (more on that later too hehe)! So let’s get to it.
We Would Build Nick
It was nice to be able to get outside in the nice weather for a change with our guy since the last time we were on location with Nick he was being pelted by snow! We focused first in downtown Birmingham for a few urban shots which came out really cool:
Great shot! Very cool little stairwell we found…
We also have plenty of behind the scenes fun as usual… first we went live on Facebook – don’t miss Nick’s awesome sign off at the end… hehe…..
Okay let’s take a look at a couple more photos from the city…
Plenty of walls and cool surfaces to use in Birmingham and Nick was prepared with the full pop up wardrobe suitcase for a few outfit changes.
Just chillin’…
To The Swamp!
At this point it was time to head over to WBHS – to “The Swamp” where they had just finished installing the brand new turf at the stadium which does indeed include the words “The Swamp” written across the turf on the home sideline! They have a pretty rowdy and dedicated student section at the home football games! We went live on YouTube for this segment (I didn’t realize I had my screen lock on at the beginning – but that’s LIVE – you just go with it). The “Teresa Takeover” happens around the 6 minute mark!
And here is an awesome shot of Nick on the very field he and his Laker teammates plan to dominate this fall!
So there you have it! Nick’s session rocked and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with him! If we were going to build a senior from scratch we would definitely build Nick!
