Jessica’s Sublime Siberian Senior Session!

Welcome to “Jessica’s Sublime Siberian Senior Session”!  If you are a regular here at the blog you might recognize these snowflakes from yesterday’s post…  We were able to get two great sessions in the snow on this particular day since it snowed for several hours.  In Jessica’s case it was so perfect because she was specifically holding out for a day just like this one, and as we said the conditions were positively Siberian, which was a good thing as you’ll see a little further down the page…

For now let’s start in the studio as we did with Jessica:

2623We did photograph Jessica against the black backdrop and we are really pleased with those results, but here we would like to show her off with the pretty color combos because they really pop off the screen – look at all the purples, violets, reds, and golds!  Jessica looks great – there was a lot to choose from this session and it was hard to pick…

Okay now let’s take a trip outside into the snow shall we?  We love the playfulness of this next shot!

Siberian Senior Session

Here’s where the session really takes a Siberian turn…  with Jessica’s Siberian Husky Diesel!!!  You know you have taken a lot of photos when you have photographed two different four legged Diesels – although they were not both pups – the other Diesel was a horse!  Meanwhile this Diesel was clearly at home in the snow and he was loving every minute of it.  Running around and playing in the snow with plenty to say too.  Love his coloring and we were able to get him to sit still just long enough to get this awesome shot with Jessica!  A girl and her pup!  Love it! Siberian Senior SessionWe hope you enjoyed these photos of Jessica’s Sublime Siberian Senior Session!  We certainly enjoyed our time with her (and Diesel)!!!

Ellery’s Entrance As Senior Picture Spokesmodel!

As we continue along preparing for an exciting year of senior pictures for the class of 2015 we present some highlights from Ellery’s spectacular in-studio spokesmodel session!  We are plain giddy about this year’s crew the way these sessions have been going so far and this one was no exception…

Senior pictures

The “black and blowy” pose never disappoints – Ellery’s blonde hair looks amazing against the black background!  Very dramatic and flat out stunning, you will see this set up repeated frequently in our posts because it is one of our signatures and every senior girl brings a little something different to it.  The weather on Ellery’s day was particularly nasty and we wanted some extra time to tinker in the studio and she was ready for that with two full sized suitcases (and an overflow bag) so we could try a bunch of different ideas indoors.  As much as we love them four sessions in the snow already is plenty.  We have one more coming up in our next post and that is likely it for the snow.

Okay so back to the photos!  Next up staying with the black background we have Ellery in a really cute hat!  Hats = GOOD!  Accessories in general are great and totally encouraged for senior sessions! High School Senior Pictures

Here is the behind-the-scenes vine of this series along with the next one – the “spotlight” set up…

Now Appearing…..Erin!

Erin is another one of our class of 2014 spokesmodels and boy is she a drama queen – as in a fantastically talented stage actor!!!  Anyone who saw her in the stage adaptation of Ragtime last year as Evelyn Nesbit at West Bloomfield High School saw that she nearly stole the show, and this year she will be taking on the role of Scout in To Kill A Mockingbird.  We are so excited for her and cannot wait to see her performance!

High School Senior Portraits

Erin’s spokesmodel session back in March took place exclusively in the studio so we spent the whole evening for her senior session on location starting at the Franklin Cider Mill.  Such a classic locale!

Next we set out to capture some cityscapes…

Erin’s session proved to include an exquisite flair for the dramatic which you will see in these images as she stepped out into the night.  We used our new Westcott Ice Light for some dramatic lighting after the sun went down (we like to call this powerful little piece of equipment the “light saber”) and as a side note for you photographers Ally will be featured as a guest blogger on MCP Actions with a 2 part tutorial on tips for using the Ice Light soon!  So, as we set out with our “light saber” and while the International Space Station floated across the night sky above us there was some serious beauty going on down here on Earth!

The sky, the moon, the sun and the stars are the limit for this girl – we think she’s destined to be a star herself!  We’ll just be happy to say “we knew her when…”  🙂

Branden Breaks Away With His Senior Session!

Branden is yet another Frameable Faces legacy – we photographed his sister for her senior pictures and Branden may just have outdone Brittini with his session….  ha!

High School Senior Picture

We started in the studio to get the yearbook headshot out of the way before we headed out on location – first we went with a little graffiti…

Then we went to a brand new location for us that we literally did not know existed!  Branden’s mom suggested it and for us it will be known as “Branden’s Spot” going forward (that’s how that works).

As is sometimes the case the Vines we captured on location aren’t embedding in this post as looping videos the way they should, but if you click on the link below within the tweet you can see one of them as we tried a couple of different running shots on this secluded trail…

Then we came back to the studio to finish up and Branden posed for some cool edgy model-esque shots – check it out!

Max – At The Top Of The City!

Photographers listen up – always get permission before you shoot somewhere you suspect you shouldn’t.  It’s not a good idea to trespass….  We had permission to use this location to capture these incredible shots of Max.

High School Senior Pictures

We got way more than we bargained for when we headed out with Max to get some cool urban shots when we happened across an opportunity to scale a fire escape up to the top of a building!  This was a Frameable Faces first!  Max rocked a suit for this session which we certainly encourage more seniors to do.  We love the look!  Very dapper.  Very GQ!

After the city we changed gears for this unique photo of Max surrounded by his collection of soccer jerseys.  We really enjoyed this session – Max brought his own unique approach which made it really cool!

Courtney Lights Up The Night!

This was such a cool senior photo shoot!

High School Senior Photo

We planned this one for a rare evening session and we got some amazing shots as the sun went down and then when it was totally dark with a few different lighting techniques.  We had so much fun with Courtney – tons of laughs and we all were feeling really inspired as we let the creativity fly…

First we actually started with a little studio work:

Then we headed out into the night and got some incredible pictures!  Courtney looks fantastic in front of a camera!

Kickin’ It With Blake

It’s all about the shoes….

High School Senior Portrait

We had a great time on this fantastic senior session with Blake!  We had the honor of photographing his sister two years ago and we were looking forward to this.  The weather was fine and the session went off without a hitch or any crazy stories unless you count the highly aggressive salesperson who came in and tried to sell me advertising despite the fact that we were obviously with a client, and then arguing with me when I said I wasn’t really interested.  Ugh.

High School Senior Picture

Meanwhile Blake has the style going on when it comes to the shoes and he has quite a collection.  He also has a sense of humor since once you’ve seen this video it’s hard not to joke around with anyone named Blake, Denice, Jacqueline, Aaron, Timothy, or the last name of O’Shaughnessy.  We were calling him “Ba-lak-ay” and his mom got in on the fun too.  🙂  Cool guy for sure and we had a lot of fun!

Class of 2013 Frameables! Part 4!

Here we are with another round of awesome seniors from the currently-graduating class of 2013!  This has been a fantastic class and these young ladies and gentlemen continue to validate for us why we’ve chosen to do what we do.  Each one has been a pleasure to photograph and to get to know!  As their near-futures start to come into focus we look forward to following their post-high school careers!  Enjoy!

Class of 2014 Spokesmodel Party!

This year’s third annual spokesmodel party was a blast!  It’s definitely one of our favorite days of the year and the culmination of the planning, photographing, and getting to know our newest team!  Some of them we’ve known for years and some we’re just getting to know.  We’ve become very fond of each and every one of these seniors-to-be and to have them all at the studio wearing their Frameable Faces T-Shirts and hanging together is as good as it gets for us!

Our awesome team!

Just like last year we began the festivities with the debut of the new spokesmodel video with behind the scenes clips from the photo sessions and even a fun outtake at the end:

We then had dinner, and this year we had it catered by Pine Lake Market in Keego Harbor – the food was fantastic!  Then in keeping with tradition we ate Just Baked cupcakes.  Soooo good.

Our Just Baked Cupcakes!

Then we took some photos.  Everyone had picked up their t-shirts and spokesmodel cards which were laid out on the table when they arrived, and we took some team pictures first.

Frameable Faces Spokesmodel Swag!

Then it was everyone’s turn to do individual shots for the mural that goes in our window for the upcoming year which is always a lot of fun.  Look for that in about a month in our window and on Facebook.  There are actually some traditions within the murals emerging – like who will be the “jumpy girl”, who will be eating a Just Baked cupcake, which boy will be flexing his muscles, and who will do something that has not been done before?

All in all it was a great night and as we’ve said before, a great group of kids.

Frameable Flashbacks! – Fahad

We received an unexpected visit from one of our seniors from the class of 2011!  Fahad is quite the entrepreneur and he was the first senior we photographed with an SUV and it was a very cool session!  Fahad is quite a go getter – a very entrepreneurial young man and we thought we would catch up with him in our latest “Frameable Flashback”!

Frameable Faces: Fahad you have a lot going on these days – what’s been happening?

Fahad: I am going to school full time & running three businesses. A fundraising company, home health care and a coffee business.

Frameable Faces: What are your goals for the future?

Fahad: My goals for the future are to get my MBA before I turn 24 and own 10 businesses before I turn 26.

Frameable Faces: What do you remember about your Frameable Faces photo session?

Fahad: I remember doing the photo shoot by the lake.  It was a lot of fun!  I loved the fact that Ally worked with me throughout everything.  She did the shots I was happy with even though it took us a while.  I would recommend Frameable Faces to all of my friends!
