A Livin’ The Dream With Alivia…
And one of the results…
At this point we did a little relocation for a few more scenes and the awesomeness continued – Alivia killed it!

At this point we did a little relocation for a few more scenes and the awesomeness continued – Alivia killed it!
Next we hit up a spot that we’ve never used before – these painted cement barrel type things…. lol! We LOVE this one:
So cool!!!
In staying with the color texture theme we have this next one, where there is something about the wind blown look that we think is really appealing. Just a moment captured where Izzy looks so beautiful.
At this point we headed to Belle Isle and listen, these were really hard to choose to share for this post… We actually went to the graffiti bridge for some fun and we livestreamed there, but we’ve posted photos on the blog from there before and the last photo we’ll share is undeniable with the purple dress and purple flowers… First the Instagram LIVE at the bridge:
We love Emma. She is just a burst of personality and total adorable-ness, and on top of that she’s clearly my spirit animal – we totally bonded over American history and that’s pretty much what we talked about while her mom Tara and Ally sat and watched during her consultation. We decided we’re going to go for coffee and talk about history one day lol! To that end, Emma had a plan for her love of books to be a part of her senior session and she had scoped out the venerable John K King Bookstore in Detroit as an essential locale in our plan – she even contacted the store where they were more than accommodating in letting us photograph there! This turned out to be the beginning of an EPIC day that ended up at our fave Chili Mustard Onions for dinner! So let’s get to what happened at the bookstore and more highlights in between as Emma Elevates the senior picture game!
John K King is a massive bookstore of used books that you MUST visit if you haven’t before. Here’s the behind the scenes Facebook LIVE broadcast where you can tell how giddy we were about photographing there!
And one of the results…
How beautiful! Emma looks amazing and it’s just such a cool photo that really captures a big part of who she is.
From there we headed over to Belle Isle where Emma and Tara had another great prop in store….
How fun is the bicycle and the flowers in the basket? The sky opened up right after this photo with a blast of rain as we scurried back to the car to wait it out. We just lucked out on that… it didn’t last long and it left behind a gorgeous rainbow in the sky.
We headed over to the edge of the island to get a skyline photo of Detroit and this one with the off-camera flash is awesome – it’s just more of Emma elevating…
Last but not least we headed over to Eastern Market for the murals and there’s a funny fruit mural Emma likes a lot so we used that one. Here’s the behind the scenes from Instagram LIVE (including a “Tara takeover” where Tara took over the broadcast)!
Adin is a great dude and he has totally fit right in – we love hanging with this guy and we have been honored to have him representing our studio for the class of 2020 from Frankel Jewish Academy! When we photographed him for his spokesmodel session back in May he was solo, but this time for our trip to Detroit he had his mom Nancy join us and she’s a lot of fun! “Detroit Versus Everybody” is symbolic of how Detroit came back after many assumed the city was all but dead and now it’s thriving! We celebrate that when seniors say they want to head downtown for photos and we had a great day down there with Adin and Nancy so let’s get to some highlights!
We headed first to Belle Isle where we got one of the Detroit skyline poses that we love…
So cool!
We spent quite a bit of time on Belle Isle where there is much to see, including one of our favorite bridges:
What a pic – Adin looks GREAT.
We also headed to a cool bridge that we’ve used a few times and we have some behind the scenes action – first on Facebook:
…and the result:
We hit a couple more spots as well including this one along the Riverwalk – here’s some more behind the scenes this time from Instagram:
From there we headed over to the Belt alley to get a couple more to wrap it up and here’s a cool one with a mural as a backdrop:
Love it!
What a cool day – Adin versus everybody ladies and gentlemen! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with him!
This post features Ava ahead of her time – there’s no doubt she is. She suggested an idea we had never done before on a whim and it turned out to be one of the coolest ideas we’ve done with unique results that we’ll definitely return to with other seniors! We’ll save those for last. Ava is a spokesmodel for us representing the Bloomfield Hills Blackhawks for the class of 2020, and privately Ally was worried about trying to top her spokesmodel session this time since the Detroit session in April was SO great. Well…..we think we may have done it.
The plan this time was to head to Karner Blue Stables where Ava’s horse Oscar stays – what a beauty he is, and the spots for photos were aplenty. Ava’s mom Stacie whom we’ve known since high school was there to join us and we had much fun as we always do now with them. We started with just a few natural pics and we’ll also give a shout out to Adria at The Beauty Lounge for the great job on Ava’s hair!
Gorgeous.
Next it was time to meet OSCAR!!! He was very chill – here’s the behind the scenes from Facebook LIVE as we got set up for some of those shots!
And here’s our girl with her guy!!!
STUNNING. LIKE…..STUNNING.
Here’s a little more of the behind the scenes fun as we switched up some outfits and explored the grounds this time from Instagram LIVE:
So another thing we love about Ava is her “rocker chick” vibe when she breaks out Doors or Stones gear like she did this day… combine that with a nearby horse trailer and you’ve got super cool…
Now for the coup de grace! Ally shooting up towards the sky, a little off-camera flash with Ava leaning over her…. and, well – look:
There are a couple of these we just simply couldn’t choose between for the blog so here’s one more…
WOW. We are SO in love with these!
So now you know. Ava is ahead of her time indeed – we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!
Next we headed to downtown Birmingham where we have some more behind the scenes from the Instagram LIVE:
And one more from the studio on the metal!
So cool – every time we use the metal we think “we should use the metal more”!
At this point we headed to Birmingham where we had a perfect day!
Definitely one of our faves from the session…
We also have more behind the scenes including the “Susan Takeover” when Rachel’s mom guest hosted the livestream on Instagram! She killed it!!! Take a look:
Sydney slayed in the city! What a fabulous senior session in Detroit and the whole fam joined us down there – we had a lot of fun! Her parents and her little sis – David, Risa and Gabrielle are a riot! Sydney is a beautiful North Farmington Raider senior – inside and out from the class of 2020 and we are thrilled to present a few sneak peeks from our day with her!
We started on Belle Isle in the morning and we had great weather conditions – let’s start at the fountain:
Such a cool pic and Sydney looks gorgeous!
We also played around with the skyline shot down by the Detroit River and here’s a little behind the scenes fun with the fam from Facebook Live:
And here are a couple other spots we love like the red bridge:
And the covered bridge…
We headed over to Eastern Market and then for a bite at Green Dot Stables before we headed back to the studio! Here’s a little more behind the scenes fun we had over by Eastern Market this time from Instagram Live:
Carli is cool, and yes she conquered and captivated on this wonderful senior picture session!!! Cool because she’s just adorable, smart and nice. Conquers because she stepped out of her comfort zone taking pics amongst the wildlife (including a couple of muskrats lol), and captivates because she totally crushed it! She looks great in these photos! We had so much fun with her and her mom Jenny – a perfect day with lots of laughs! Aside from the yearbook headshot we went completely on location and we are excited to share a few of these with you!
Going in chronological order we started with a bench by the water and this one just looks so good to us in black and white so we’ll start there:
We also have some fun behind the scenes from the day first with the replay from Facebook Live!
We had a couple of outfit changes, a few furry friends who visited and startled Carli’s mom Jenny a little – we love her by the way – and a little waiting for the sun to hit a meadow just the way we wanted it! Here’s a beautiful full length photo:
Love it!
Here’s more behind the scenes fun this time from our Instagram livestream:
We LOVE this one on the bridge…
Okay, she is stunning!
We’ll leave you with one more!
Beautiful!!! Carli conquers and captivates is an appropriate way to describe these photos indeed, and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!
Mad about Maddie is what we are! We actually have been at least since her spokesmodel session back in April and so we were excited to get her in front of Ally’s camera again for her senior pictures! We had great weather and we focused mainly on location for this day so we headed out with Maddie and her mom Lisa to make it happen!
First we went to a private beach that they had access to:
Okay she’s adorable.
From there we headed to a fave dock of ours for a few and we have some fun behind the scenes on this from Facebook Live!
…and one of the results!
Love it. And we’ll also give a shout out to Francie Fruitman on the fantastic makeup!
We bounced around West Bloomfield a little where we got this image with Maddie surrounded by natural beauty!
Oh, and Maddie LOVES bumblebees…. ok not really. Haha! Some more behind the scenes on that…. from Instagram LIVE:
We’ll leave you with one more of Maddie just being super cute.
And there you have it – we’re mad about Maddie – again! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!
