Maksim has been in front of Ally’s camera before along with the whole fam, and we personally go back with his dad Mike a long way – for Doug about 42 years! So we were excited for the opportunity to photograph Maks for his senior pictures and we had a mega gameplan to takeover Detroit to do it! The whole fam came along – mom Sue and little bro Viktor!
Maksim To The Maximum
We spent the whole day on location in Detroit – first stop Belle Isle!
Max is looking good with Detroit as the backdrop! That’s the GM Headquarters AKA the Renaissance Center in the distance!
After some time on Belle Isle we headed over to Eastern Market to find a couple of murals and we also fired up some behind the scenes on Facebook Live – take a look!
And here’s one of the results:
So cool!
Next stop back downtown to the Belt alleyway for a pic of Maksim and “MOM” hehe…
At this point we had one more stop to make and that was West Riverfront Park where we had the Ambassador Bridge as a backdrop and here is the behind the scenes action from there that we streamed on Instagram:
Such a cool spot, BUT – we’re going to sign off with a photo from there of Maksim to the Maximum – up close and personal:
Nailed it!
And there you have it – it was Maksim to the Maximum indeed and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day which actually ended with pizza at Pie Sci – YUM! What an awesome time we had all around and the results prove it!

When we asked our son Tony who is a junior at Bloomfield Hills High School who did he think would be a perfect spokesmodel at his school – a girl who is nice, social, well liked, smart and fun with a little extra online influence perhaps, the first name he spoke was Kaitlyn. He was spot on! This girl is amazing. Sharp, sweet and with an infectious laugh like no one’s business, she is perfect! And her spokesmodel session was perfect too! It wasn’t easy – while the light was great the wind was not. It was windy as all get out down in the D which can pose a challenge for a girl with long hair, and it wasn’t exactly warm either, but Kaitlyn still rocked it and produced some of the images that we know will prove to live on as Frameable iconic photos. So let’s get to it!
Detroit Takeover With Kaitlyn
Kaitlyn’s mom Sara is a delight as well and she came with us down to Detroit where we started off on Belle Isle as we frequently do when we head down there. The first photo we’re sharing here is the best Detroit Skyline photo we’ve taken and all it took was recognizing that we needed a different vantage point than we’ve used in the past! We couldn’t be happier with how this looks…
Gorgeous Girl!
Now we did a livestream on Instagram but were unable to record it – however we think Kaitlyn’s Snapchat story was just as good so this time we’ll start with that for some of our fun behind the scenes…
An outfit change and here we are with another closer up with our girl…
At this point we headed into downtown to the Belt Alley and got this awesome photo with these vibrant colors!
Here we have some more behind the scenes fun with our Facebook Live Video replay from the Belt – as you can see Tony actually came along with us on Kaitlyn’s session and they took a few photos together which will surface soon….. 🙂
At this point we made one more location change, heading over to some of the more ratchet areas of the Eastern Market for a little urban decay which makes for great photos! We’ll leave you with this one…
Love.
And there you have it – a spectacular spokesmodel Detroit takeover with Kaitlyn! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our time with her and we cannot wait to do it again for her senior pictures soon!!!

Capturing Cara has become plenty fun for us here – she is a current spokesmodel for the class of 2018 so you may have seen her here before on her spokesmodel session, and she rocked her return! Cara’s brother Ben was a Frameable senior as well and parents Gina and Kenny round out a great family! Gina came on the session with us and we knew we’d be in for a fun time as long as the weather held up – for a while there the forecast wasn’t looking good but we lucked out! We headed down to the D and started out on Belle Isle…
Capturing Cara!
Here’s a spectacular shot of Cara with the Detroit River and the Renaissance Center in the background!
There are so many amazing spots on Belle Isle – here’s a little behind the scenes fun from our YouTube Live broadcast there!
…and one more shot before we focus on the Eastern Market area….
LOVE this with the yellow and black with Cara being framed by some yellow too!
At this point we headed over to the Eastern Market and Dequindre Cut to take advantage of the many murals and locations to work with there. Let’s start with Cara with a mural backdrop:
Loving it…
Let’s also see some more behind the scenes fun from our Facebook Live broadcast while we were down there!
And one more from this doorway we found – Cara was in the zone at this point – capturing Cara was a breeze!
A great day to be sure and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day capturing Cara!

We have spent more time in Detroit this year than ever before and that’s not by accident. Detroit has been roaring back with a comeback like we’ve never seen in our lifetime and many seniors want to have their sessions in the city. We have become familiar with some great spots and we are still discovering new ones all the time making for some awesome outings! Reed’s session was no exception and he’s the second guy from this family Ally has had in front of her camera!
Family Affair…
Reed’s parents Brent and Tracie came along for the day as did his younger brother Mason. Brent and I worked together back in my corporate days so we go pretty far back – about 20 years to be exact! So this was a fun opportunity to hang out together for a day – it turned out to be somewhat of a wild and wacky session complete with wipeouts and a traveling party that got involved (more on that later) and the weather even cooperated despite a shaky forecast! So let’s get to it. But first a studio shot before we head downtown…
Good looking dude – looks just like his dad too…
Reed Takes Over Detroit…
Our first stop was on Belle Isle which is definitely becoming one of our favorite spots. Love this view of the skyline behind our guy!
We have a couple more to look at but let’s sprinkle in a little behind the scenes action… First the 6 second looping Vine that pretty much sums it all up….
Here is the replay of our Periscope broadcast from Belle Isle. You can be a part of our broadcasts on the Periscope app with your smartphone by downloading the app and following us at @FrameableFaces here.
Here’s another photo from Belle Isle with a new spot we found with the bog in the background and a well placed American Flag!
Now here is where it gets a little crazy! Hehe…
This next Periscope replay you’ll see where this merry band of travelers came pedaling by Comerica park where we were setting up to get a photo in front of one of the Tiger statues. Brent went to grab my iPhone but like a botched track and field relay the handoff failed and Brent went down trying to save it… I guess I should have known this broadcast was pegged for madness when I somehow started the broadcast without the title pasted in. “Untitled” is probably appropriate. Ha!
Meanwhile if you watched the whole thing you saw that the party people took a liking to Reed and wanted their own senior picture, so here it is….
Classic!!!
From there we headed over to the Dequindre Cut to wrap it up, and we broadcasted again this time on Facebook Live…
We’ll leave you with one more photo from this last part of the session…
And there you have it! We certainly took over Detroit on this day with Reed – a session we’ll never forget and we hope you enjoyed the highlights!

Okay that title was just too easy! When your senior is Caroline and you head to Detroit City for her senior session, then a TV show with the same name provides convenient inspiration. Detroit sessions are proving to be epic and this one was no exception complete with a trip to Polish Village in Hamtramck for dinner afterwards with Caroline and her parents! But before we get to that let’s talk about Caroline for a sec… Another friend of our Lacey’s, we’ve known her for a few years now so this was a lot of fun (Lacey even came along). She’s a North Farmington Raider just like us, a total sweetheart, and she looked amazing for her session!
Awesomeness in the studio…
Before we headed downtown we started out in the studio to get a few photos here including a few on the red couch with the red paper background like this one:
Beautiful! And love the color coordination with the flowers…
Now before we head to Detroit for a few more shots let’s take a look at some of the behind the scenes action from our day! First we have the Periscope replay from the studio during the above setup with the red couch. If you haven’t followed us yet on Periscope you can see the broadcasts on twitter or join the broadcasts in the app on your smart phone at this link.
Our first stop was Belle Isle which is a fantastic location especially since it became a state park. This spot provides a nice vista to get a little of the Detroit skyline in the background…
Here’s the broadcast we did from Belle Isle by the fountain:
Next we headed over to Eastern Market where there are a ton of amazing murals on the walls – many of them commissioned and quite stunning, and that’s where we captured this close up:
Caroline was definitely in the zone at this point and we were having a blast! Love the colors and her top definitely brings out her eyes here…
Here’s our last broadcast from the day in the Eastern Market area – so cool…
We ended up in the new section of the Dequindre Cut which we had never been to – I thought it would be cool to get a panorama of my own of the scene with my iPhone…
And here is one of the photos from this scene that we LOVE. Caroline looks fantastic!
So there you have it! Caroline in the city and bringing her A-game for an awesome senior session in the D! We hope you enjoyed the highlights from our day!

We are loving Detroit. This is the most exciting time for Detroit in our lifetime by a mile. There is so much going on down there and it’s no accident that we have now done two senior sessions in “The D” this year. The first one was at the Dequindre Cut, and the second one we present to you here.
Senior Session Takeover of Detroit
Ian came to us with very specific ideas about the type of shoot he wanted. He wanted to takeover the city and he wanted certain landmarks and a certain style. These can be the most exciting and rewarding sessions to be sure, because everyone is excited, everyone is planning and preparing and in the end this session was a series of firsts for us. Ian went straight suit and tie – a formal look with Belle Isle and art deco stalwarts The Guardian and Fisher buildings (both built in 1928 three years before the Empire State Building in New York City) as our backdrops. Lots of personality and great taste with this guy!
Meanwhile Ian’s mom Susan came with us and she guest hosted some of the Periscope broadcast we did on location which you’ll see below. So let’s get to the photos shall we? We started out at Belle Isle which has improved a ton since it was turned into a state park – very clean and a pleasure for hanging out.
This close up of Ian is at the James Scott Memorial Fountain which was completed in 1925 and it really is a wonder. It’s really cool to see it running!
Next we were able to capture this cool photo with part of the Detroit skyline in the background!
Now let’s look at our behind the scenes footage from our day in the D with Ian. First our fun 6 second looping Vine:
And now the Periscope broadcasts both from Belle Isle and The Guardian Building:
On To The Guardian…
Next we headed over to the Guardian Building. We were in communication with the building management all week to get the proper documentation for permission to shoot in the lobby and had a scary moment when we arrived and the lady at the front desk said they don’t allow photographing that day, but I knew I had the approval and our contact came down to the lobby to give us the green light. The lighting certainly posed a challenge and we came prepared with our off camera flash but it still wasn’t easy! We got some great shots and we’ll share two of them here…
Just incredible design in there and the colors are awesome! Now for one more in black and white before we say goodbye…
LOVE that one. A fitting end to an amazing day in the D with Ian! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with him!
