Fiyaaaaaaa is a great word for this session literally and figuratively and yeah, we love this girl. She’s been on our blog before as a spokesmodel representing the class of 2022 seniors, and we were pretty pumped to get her back in here for another round! An accomplished student-athlete and North Farmington Raider (like us), Maya is a rock star and we’re big fans of her whole family actually. Mom Melissa joined us for a fantastic day in the studio and Detroit so let’s get to the highlights!
Maya on Fiyaaaaaaa
Okay so there’s your actual fiyaaaaaaa.
And here’s the behind the scenes on that from Facebook – pretty cool!
Let’s now get to some more figurative fiyaaaaaaa in Detroit!
Pretty in the city!
Hey it’s Maya on the Mural! We have some Belle Isle behind the scenes as well this time from Instagram:
Whoa – okay that’s a fantastic pic to finish with! Maya on fiyaaaaaaa indeed! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!

It’s impossible to be with Sophie and not smile. Literally impossible. She’s as adorable as they come – with just an infectious attitude, and everyone was excited for this session – especially Sophie. Sophie is a legacy Frameable senior as well – her sister Alena is an FF legend, and Sophie carried on the tradition like a rock star! Her dad Loren and bubby Barbara joined us on the session (we actually like Loren even though he’s a Buckeye – we know, it’s weird), mom Mindy joined for much of it via Facetime (technology is so awesome) and the results are fantastic so let’s get to a few highlights!
Sophie Made Us Smile
We started in the studio where we got this fabulous pic on the black background:
SO pretty!
We also have some fun behind the scenes first from Instagram:
At this point we headed to Birmingham to get some photos on location…
That red hair with the magenta? Um, YES!
Next outfit please…
Adorable. And we have more behind the scenes – this time from Facebook:
Okay we’ll leave you with one more of Sophie…
Love. So yes, Sophie made us smile, and we hope these highlights made YOU smile too!

We love seniors who are game for anything and Leora was no exception as you’ll see at the end of this post! She’s a sweetheart and a North Farmington Raider (yeah!) like us so she gets bonus points lol. We had a fantastic day with her and her mom Kim for her senior pics with one of those epic grand finales that we love! So let’s get to some highlights!
We Adore-A Leora
We covered a lot of ground and styles so we won’t get to all of them here, but we started in the studio on the black background for this stunning pic:
Gorgeous!
We also have some fun behind the scenes from Facebook – first with Leora in her poms uniform – she’s the captain!
At this point we headed out on location for a few beautiful photos like this one:
…and this one:
And now for the coup de grace! Let’s get IN the water!
Here’s the behind the scenes first:
And the spectacular result!!!
WOW!!!!
A great one to end on, and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with Leora!

Josh wasn’t joshing around with his senior pictures – the kid was on FIRE! Okay well HE wasn’t on fire, but his tennis racket was, and figuratively speaking he did a great job on the rest so the title fits. He’s a North Farmington Raider and a legacy Frameable senior since his older sis Rachel came through here for her session so we were excited to spend some more time with Josh and Rachel’s mom Susan who is a delight and to photograph another one of her kids! So let’s get to some highlights:
Josh Wasn’t Joshing Around…
We started off in the studio for the fire…
We love these….
And we have some behind the scenes from this one too from Facebook:
At this point we headed to Birmingham for the rest…
Looking good!
We also like this white marble…
Here’s a little more behind the scenes from Birmingham this time from Instagram:
What a great session! We aren’t joshing around when we say we enjoyed hanging out with this young man and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with him!

We’ve had a wonderful time photographing our newest crew of spokesmodels – the class of 2022! And Maya is a great rising senior to finish with because she’s a NORTH FARMINGTON RAIDER! You know we’re Raiders so we always have a soft spot for those who wear the brown and gold! Ally has known Maya’s mom Melissa for years and we’re thrilled to have them on board! We bounced around West Bloomfield to get some pics of Maya and here are a few highlights!
Wrapping Things Up With Maya
We started out at a fave spot of ours from the past that we hadn’t been to in a minute, and we found these pretty purple flowers to surround our girl:
LOVE IT!
We also have behind the scenes fun from the session first from Facebook:
One more from this spot with the barn in the background…
Gorgeous!
At this point we changed locations – our seniors can change outfits and locations multiple times during our 3 hour sessions.
And here’s one more on one of our local trails in the WB!
Here’s a little bonus fun at North Farmington – we will return there when Maya returns for her senior session, but we planned to go to Holland Field since she was just named to the Division 1 all-district team as the goalie and is currently the #1 ranked goalie in her league (she was actually a little sore from her last game on this session but you’d never know it), but there was a big event going on…. so we went to the front of the school to snap a few and here is the livestream from Instagram!
And there you have it! A splendid way to wrap up the spokesmodel sessions – we are so thankful to have such a great crew of kids to represent our studio for the class of 2022! Senior sessions will be coming your way soon on the blog and you should definitely book yours now!

Ellie elevates her game in the following photographs – like, they’re awesome, and SHE’S awesome. We love this girl who has represented our studio as a spokesmodel this year at North Farmington High School (our beloved alma mater) for the class of 2021! We’ve known this fam for decades and we’ve loved photographing Ellie – she’s full of personality, smart, adorable and she’s just fun. Both of her parents Jeff and Kari joined us at Mill Race Historical Village in Northville on a beautiful Fall afternoon and the results are awesome. Let’s get to a few of them shall we?
Ellie Elevates
Mill Race is one of our new favorite places to photograph since we got the permit to shoot there this year and Ellie brought her A-Game. A shout out also goes to Caroline at Mandy Rose Studio for makeup!
Okay she looks gorgeous. And part of the point was the Fall colors for the Pure Michigan feel which we got plenty of, but purples and pinks look fantastic in that one! We have some behind the scenes fun too first from Facebook:
Here’s a couple more from the village:
A beautiful flower in the flowers!
Now we get into the Fall feels….
Love it. We also have some more behind the scenes this time from Instagram:

YES it’s time for the Class of 2021 Spokesmodel Panorama…..RAMA!!! This is our fourth annual post like this, and while these are NOT professional photos, they are a fun behind the scenes way of representing what we’ve been up to with our new crew in panoramic style! I took these (Doug – not Ally) with my iPhone XR and we love to stack ’em up and give them their own blog post! This year has clearly been a strange one to say the least, and we have a smaller but still amazing crew representing the rising class of 2021! The first couple we did before the lockdown and the next four we’ve completed since we reopened. And what a great crew we have this year….
The Class Of 2021 Spokesmodel Panoramarama!
Here we go – in chronological order!
Adrianna
Ellie
Leah
Maddie
Lira
Giulianna
And there it is!!! The class of 2021 is HERE and we are so excited! We hope you enjoyed the 2021 spokesmodel panorama …..RAMA!!!

We had a wonderful time – extreme enjoyment you might say a few weeks ago with Ellie for her spokesmodel session for the class of 2021! We are pleased to share these highlights during times of stress as we continue to prepare for the upcoming senior class, and Ellie is representing our studio for North Farmington High School – our alma mater!
Meanwhile we go way back with Ellie’s family – Doug went to Michigan with Ellie’s mom Kari and she joined us for the session which we did mostly in the studio, but we did manage to get outside for a bit even though it was just slightly chilly… hehe. So let’s get to some highlights!
Extreme Enjoyment With Ellie
You’ll see for yourself how delightful Ellie is in the behind the scenes stuff, and we’ll get to the photo highlights in a bit, but first we have an added element to this session that we are playing with to start offering this summer…
Susan Adams is a fantastic local photographer whom we have admired for a few years now. She specializes in sports and she has captured some great images of our son Tony as the photographer for Bloomfield Hills Schools. We are looking to bring Susan and her talents on board for yes – sports (more on that in the future), but also for an idea we had for professional behind-the-scenes storytelling through photos of the day with our seniors! As you know Doug documents plenty of behind the scenes fun during our sessions with livestreaming and more on Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram and TikTok with his iPhone. But senior photos are really an event for our peeps and this could be a great option for those who want to include it in their experience. With Ellie, Susan met up with her while she was having her makeup done by Class of 2011 Frameable Faces Senior Gabby Zilberberg! We love when things like this happen! She also came over to the studio to grab a few photos as well, so we’ll start with Susan’s pics:
Getting started…
Great stuff right?
Now let’s get to the sneak peeks from the session!
We started off with a little pink on pink. Love this sweater on this background – just adorable!
And here is some fun behind the scenes from Facebook – should bring you a smile or two!
From there we moved to a wooden backdrop that we love:
At this point it was time to get a few pics outdoors. And actually it was toasty warm! Okay maybe not, but we told Ellie to pretend it was… hehe…
Here’s some behind the scenes from outside that we streamed on Instagram:
And we’ll leave you with this one photo from on location. So pretty!!!
And there you have it! Extreme enjoyment with Ellie indeed! We are looking forward to bringing you more photos of these awesome young peeps and we look towards the summer for senior pictures!
Meanwhile, looking for some fun? A diversion? Check out our podcast – all the links are below and we actually talked about Ellie’s session a bit on episode 8!

We were sitting and talking with one of our high school seniors and her mom yesterday and it was a conversation I really enjoyed – one that got me thinking about our seniors and why their sessions are so special.
We have had parents thank us before for “making it such a great experience” for their senior and “really capturing them” or “making them feel so special”. Yes – we are really good at what we do. Ally is an awesome photographer and she connects with people really well.
But here’s the thing, and I said this yesterday in what was a similar conversation to many we’ve had with comments like the ones above:
Often the case is that we made someone’s daughter or son feel good NOT just because we said lots of things, complimented them and focused on them, but because the senior kicked butt. At the end of the day the senior gets credit too. It’s the senior who has to prep, dress, smile, pose – for hours! It’s the senior who projects the confidence and the personality.
Sure Our Approach is Key…
Take the girl who was here yesterday with her mom to place their order. Did we have something to do with her having such an amazing session? Well sure we did. We meet with each senior ahead of time to get to know them. We want to get a sense of what their style is, their personality – and we empower them to be involved in planning their session. We know what questions to ask, we know tons of great locations, we have a great studio with perfect lighting, fantastic backdrops and really cool vintage furniture. We’ve been at this a long time and it’s our livelihood, but we want them to know this is about them. So yes this approach breaks down barriers and paves the way for a better session. It’s really important, and once we’ve done it the senior can own their part.
…But it’s a Team Effort & The Seniors Make It Special
It’s truly a collaboration. No different than a coach and an athlete, a conductor and a classical musician. The girl who was here yesterday really rose to the occasion. SHE was what made it special. She looked great! You could see the fun she was having and the confidence on her face in the photos. Ally laughs at how I always say the senior is “killing it” or “slaying the game” haha… But that’s not B.S. – it’s true! And with yesterday’s senior everyone brought their A game, everyone feels like we really accomplished something great together, and now we’re friends. We can’t imagine the tedium of doing it any other way for something that can and should be so special and our clients come here because that’s what they want.
So yes, we love what we do and we’re good at it, but it’s the team – us, the parents and the SENIORS that make senior pictures at Frameable Faces so special!

Dean has been Dynamite a couple times in the last month or so…. He’s a North Farmington Raider so you may know that North is nationally famous for their fun wacky student ID cards and Dean was Napoleon Dynamite on his – it was perfection! Meanwhile these were entirely different kinds of pics – senior pics! Dean’s mom Joy came along to provide the crying – LOL. We love Joy and we rib her a lot about how cute she is when she gets all emotional about her babies being all grown up! Dean meanwhile is a great kid just like his older brother Mitchell who was here two years ago!
Dean was Dynamite
We started out in the studio for a more dressy look – fantastic monochromatic get up for this dude:
Awesome – good looking dude!
We also headed out on location to get a few…
Looking good – and we have to say there’s no doubt that this guy had more fun than he expected. You can see it in his smile – good times and lots of laughs!
Nice with the lake in the background!
We’ll leave you with one more:
Good times indeed – Dean was dynamite and we had a great time on this day. We hope you enjoyed the highlights of his session!
