We’re really making the rounds this year to college campuses around the state for graduation photos and having an absolute blast doing it! We love this time of year and this was our first trip to Grand Valley specifically for grad pics! We have highlights from a couple sessions – a pair of besties as well as another individual!
Grand Valley Grads – Kirah & Amalia!
As for the girls it was unseasonably cold for their session but you wouldn’t know it from their photos – they were total troopers. Kirah we met last year when we photographed her sis Kailee at MSU and this time it was her turn with her pal Amalia! Let’s take a look at a couple:
Ha – beneath the Blue Bridge these two are peas in a pod…
We like this one at the main campus entrance:
Grand Valley Grad Matthew!
Matthew went solo (okay his mom and sis got in a few too but this post is about the grads lol) the next morning and it was slightly warmer….just slightly. But once again we got great results! We hit one of the spots he resided while in school up there in Allendale!
Here’s a little behind the scenes with Matthew…
And then from there it was back to the Blue Bridge and this is a great one to finish on for now!
Love that blue on blue!!!
And there you have it! A great weekend on the west side of the state for us and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of these Grand Valley grads!!!

This isn’t just some “same name connection” going on here – we love this girl and her whole family like a whole lot. We’ve known them for a really long time and Allie’s senior pics were as much fun as we knew they’d be. We always have fun with this crew. Mom Jodi and big sis Jordyn joined us for a day in Detroit for the fun and the results are totally FAB for this BHHS Class of 2024 Blackhawk. Let’s get to the highlights!
Ally Loves Allie
So we started at the DIA and that’s where we’ll start here:
Okay she’s adorable.
Next we headed over to Belle Isle and we were so happy to see the fountain on! Here’s some behind the scenes from Facebook:
Last stop was Eastern Market before a bite to eat at Pie Sci… Allie looks great with the blue mural and a well timed breeze adds the assist!
And there you have it! Ally loves Allie and now you know why – we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!

Kamari kicks it off in style in these highlights from our first high school senior spokesmodel session for the rising class of 2022! If you know us at all you know how giddy with excitement we get around this time of year. Yes we’re starting a little later than our pre-pandemic schedule, but the craziness of the last year has us even more ready than usual to be photographing seniors again (if that’s possible)!
Kamari will be a senior at Mercy High School this fall and she is completely adorable just as she’s always been. We started with just a pic or two in the studio before we headed out on location. Many of our senior sessions include both studio and location photos… here’s a simple one on the white background.
Yasss – the first 2022 senior photo!
Okay let’s head outside where Kamari continued to slay the game….
Oooh one of our fave spots at Quarton Lake! We also have a little fun behind the scenes action from Facebook! Make sure you’re following us there!
Next Kamari broke out the hoodie – how cute is she?
We also have some more behind the scenes this time from Instagram Live – make sure you’re following us there too! Just make sure you’re following us everywhere…. links are below at the end or up at the top of the website!
We’ll leave you with this one for now……until Kamari returns for her senior session!
That could be our fave…. hard to say – they’re all fantastic! When Kamari kicks it off she does it in style! We hope you enjoyed the highlights from our day with her and we can’t wait to photograph and share more seniors from the class of 2022! Book your session now!

Let’s bring on Blake!!! Blake is our newest spokesmodel for the class of 2020 representing the Birmingham Groves Falcons! We actually met Blake and his mom Ellory officially together for the first time on a face time call and we laughed a lot even with Blake being a little under the weather at the time so we knew this would work. We are running close to the end of the junior year so we were happy to luck out and get great weather to get a session in with some location photos at the Franklin Cider Mill, but we also started with some photos in the studio so we’ll begin with those:
Bring On Blake…
We kept these simple on the black backdrop and we’ll show one in color here….
….and one in black and white!
Blake was a piece of cake to photograph – Ally commented that he’s a natural – a photogenic dude!
We also have some fun behind the scenes action first from Facebook Live:
At this point we headed over to the Franklin Cider Mill which is actually a great place for pictures when it’s off season – such a classic place and they were very happy to let us take photos there when we asked them permission a few years back. It’s very typical for our seniors to do a combination of studio and on location images…
Love this shot…
We have another behind the scenes vid – this time with the raw feed from our Instagram livestream:
And we’ll leave you with this one at the tree that we really like:
And there you have it – Blake BROUGHT it!!! Good kid – we’re happy to have him and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with him!

Ahhh Spring is finally (kinda) in the air here in Michigan and we were able to get outside for a class of 2020 spokesmodel session! Couldn’t be more pleased to do that with Alivia who is adorable, an athlete, and a Bloomfield Hills Blackhawk!!! We’ve gotten to know some of this fam over the last couple years at BHHS as our son Tony has been a football teammate of both of her brothers, and her parents are great – her mom Rhonda joined us on the session and she is a delight. We did a little bit in the studio as well as on location for this session so let’s get to a few highlights shall we?
A’Lovin’ Alivia
We started out in the studio on the black background to get some blowy 🌬 and some fiery 🔥 and well, wow. Alivia just crushed it. Here’s the setup with the fun behind the scenes livestream on Facebook Live – click on this and get a little chuckle… and be sure to give our page a “like”!
Here’s the awesome fiery result:
Okay that is bad ass.
At this point we headed on location and this is quite typical of our seniors where we’ll spend some time on a session in the studio AND on location – both options are included in our session fee at no additional charge with the exception of longer distances such as Detroit or Ann Arbor (also very popular).
As for Alivia, we love this closeup of her – a natural beauty!
Whoa! Beautiful.
Alivia changed outfits too – how about some pretty in pink?
We also have some fun behind the scenes from our livestream on Instagram which you can click and see below – Alivia is just such a natural on camera!
And we’ll leave you with this one with the brick. Sometimes the breeze gives you a perfect lift!
And there you have it! A’lovin’ Alivia indeed – we are thrilled to have her as part of our crew! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!

We love when our peeps have growing families and they bring them in for updated photos – we love to be a part of these special moments and to catch up! Jen has 5 children now including two “newer additions” and 2 of the five have been on our blog before – Emily for senior pictures and Noah for pictures with his grandmas! So getting them all here together was really fun. They actually came to the mall for breakfast with Santa (a mall event where we took pictures for everyone with Santa and Mrs. Claus) and then back to the studio for their own session, ultimately including all of it on their custom holiday cards!
Familiar and Frameable
Let’s start with Santa:
Breakfast with Santa here at the mall is always so much fun! Samuel and Noah had a blast and we hope they got what they asked for!
Now back at the studio we have pictures first of the girls and then of the boys…
Sarah and Emily are such beauties inside and out!
Next it’s the dudes:
Adam looks pretty happy to be with his two little brothers!
We also have some fun behind the scenes from Facebook Live!
And we’ll finish with the whole family with Jen and Andrew getting into the picture!
And there you go – what a crew! Familiar faces make us happy and we hope you enjoyed the highlights!

Wow what a day with Loren! Loren was so adorable the first time she came to the studio – she had been following along with some of our sessions on Instagram and elsewhere on social media as many do and she was totally fired up for her turn! She and her mom Lili had some great ideas for the session and it led us to some things we had never tried before! We’ll get to that in a little bit, but suffice it to say (as you’re about to see) this was a legendary day with Loren for sure! Dad Eugen and little bro David even hung out and jumped in for a couple photos at one point so it was a family affair and we had a lot of fun, but this blog post is about Loren, so let’s get to a few pics!
Legendary Day
We started on Belle Isle as we often do and got this image of our girl with the skyline in the background:
We also have some fun behind the scenes from the day starting with the replay from the livestream on Instagram!
We stayed on Belle Isle for a bit and also got this pretty photo of Loren in the willow!
Love that one!
At this point we switched locations and headed over to the Belt where we captured a cool pic of Loren looking off to her future! Hehe…
The overalls with the Hamilton socks rock!
And now for the coup d’état! It was getting towards evening and it was a little chilly – not quite carnival weather, and yet we had plans for the carousel on the riverwalk – add a perfect dress to match and a legendary photo is created! We even made this one into a metal sample for the studio! Truly a fairy tale photo – and first here’s the behind the scenes on Facebook Live!
And the result!
Amazing!
Yes it was a legendary day that we won’t forget with Loren, and we hope you enjoyed the highlights!

We love our seniors as you know, and we’re always really impressed with seniors who take the initiative to call the studio themselves and set up their own session! This is not a knock on the seniors whose parents make the call, but we love when we can hear the confidence and eloquence of a young person who can handle themselves so well right off the bat! This was the case with Anika, and that first impression was just the tip of the iceberg. She is such a sweetheart! Anika is also the number 1 ranked tennis player in the state of Michigan and is leaving this month to embark on her journey to play tennis at the University of North Carolina! Doug’s Godfather played football at UNC back in the 50’s so we’ve always had a slight affinity for the Carolina Blue and White and now we’ll have a personal connection there with someone whose career we are excited to follow!
Anika Serves Up An Ace
As for her senior session it was one to remember – both her parents Pat and Sushma joined us for her day and they are both delightful – we had a lot of fun – and the photos? Just awesome – an ACE of a session for sure and you could say we “LOVE” this girl – see what we did there? Let’s get to the highlights!
We’ll start in the studio on the black…
Beautiful!
We played around with the white background too – so many options and it has been hard to narrow these down for this blog post… In the meantime we have some fun behind the scenes first from the replay of the Facebook Live broadcast in the studio:
At this point we headed out to the tennis courts for some location photos and we had some really cool Michigan fall colors in the background for a tennis setting which was pretty neat as Anika donned some UNC gear:
Servin’ and slayin’….
We also have some behind the scenes fun from the tennis court at West Bloomfield High School from our Instagram livestream – take a look:
From there we headed over to Birmingham and these next two are both closeups but they’re just too good – so instead of choosing we’re leaving you with these two… one on the dock at Quarton Lake:
And one with a change of wardrobe and a natural background – awesome!!!
Anika served up an ACE of a session indeed, she’s got the ADVANTAGE for life, and we LOVE her for sure! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our time with her!

Yes Ben plays soccer and he’s a baller – but we think that applies to more than just how he plays on the pitch. We’ve known Ben and his family for a long time and he’s a good dude – you could say being a baller is just an overall description of this guy. Good kid, involved in the community, athlete, student – he’s got it all, and we had a lot of fun with him and his mom Leigh on his senior session!
Ben Is A Baller
We started on location and headed over to Bloomfield Hills High School first to get a few photos of Ben in his gear – this is a great one!
Bad ass…
As usual we have some fun behind the scenes from the day starting with the replay of our broadcast on Facebook Live:
Time now for a change in location over to downtown Birmingham first with this cool close up:
And how about this one with the city lights and the Birmingham Theater marquee!
At this point we headed back to the studio to finish up once we ran out of daylight and we’ll leave you with this portrait of our guy:
Awesome! We also have the behind the scenes Snapchat story for you – the filters are missing for some weird reason but it’s still plenty fun!
And there you have it – Ben is a baller and he delivered on an awesome senior session! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with him!

We are ever loving Emma for sure in this senior session! It was one like very few others… across multiple locations, inclement weather that we ultimately worked to our great advantage, outfits, styles, settings – it was epic and sprawling and we loved all of it! We also love Emma’s mom Lija – we had so much fun with the two of them! The funny thing is we actually snapped a photo of Emma at prom with her date and our Lacey and her date over a year ago and hadn’t even realized it when they called to book her senior pics! Like it was meant to be!
Ever Loving Emma
So let’s start with the first day in the studio on the red couch…
Love that! Gorgeous and a fun playful photo of Emma!
We also have some behind the scenes fun first from a Facebook Live broadcast from the studio…
Next we headed to the ice to get this fabulous photo… these are always a fun challenge – usually with me walking out on to the ice with the off camera flash trying not to wipeout lol!
So graceful!
Day 2
After a rainout we rescheduled at a private location that we DO have available for future photo sessions if our clients request it and what a spot! AND we had a perfect day with big beautiful snowflakes falling and no wind… we started in the hayloft – check out the behind the scenes:
And here’s the result!
SO COOL!!!
Emma spotted a swing on the property and we jumped on it so to speak… we’ll finish with that photo!
How cute is she?
Lastly we’re going to leave you with the snapchat story with highlights from both days!
And there it is – ever loving Emma indeed! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day(s) with her!!!
