In yesterday’s post Twinning and Winning – Part 1 – And We Ain’t Lyin’ About Ryann! we went all Ladies First with Ryann’s highlights with a twin pic of Ryann and Shane together mixed in. Today we reverse it and get on the Shane Train!!! Shane is a good dude and he was a trooper on these two days in Detroit taking all these pics with his sis! We had a great time with these two and here are more of the highlights!
On The Shane Train
We’ll start with one of our favorite mosaic murals in Eastern Market:
Looking good!!!
Here’s one from Belle Isle with a pretty cool composition – an angle we hadn’t used before:
We posted a photo from the cool ivy wall we found in Detroit yesterday of Ryann, and here’s some behind the scenes of that spot from Facebook Live:
And a result with Shane:
Pretty cool huh?
We grabbed this black and white on the Wayne State campus – big fans of how this one turned out:
Our last spot was by a very cool sculpture – also a somewhat random find… and here’s the behind the scenes from Instagram:
And we’ll leave you with one of those of the twins together!
Love them!
You can see why we weren’t lyin’ about Ryann yesterday and why we are on the Shane Train today!!! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our time with these two!!!

What an epic senior session(s) odyssey we embarked on with twins Ryann and Shane!!! In this post we’ll go ladies first – we love this girl and we ain’t lyin….about Ryann!!! What a sweetheart and the two of them are pretty hilarious together we have to say. Definitely a twin bond that you can feel. We’re going to focus on some individual photos of Ryann here and some individuals of Shane tomorrow but with one together in each post. These two are legacies too since we photographed older brother Ian from the class of 2019!
Twinning & Winning & ain’t lyin’ about Ryann…
We went to Detroit with these two – twice! The plan with their parents Faith and John was to make sure we had plenty of opportunities to get as many pics as we needed in as many spots as necessary with some of them individually and some together. We all felt that we didn’t want to be rushed, and this allowed us to break it up without going on a marathon day long shoot. So you’ll see some photos mixed in here from both days!
Here’s a little behind the scenes to give you a taste of the first day in Eastern Market before we get to a few higlights from Facebook Live:
Now some highlights of Ryann’s pics!
Just stunning!!! We had a decent amount of wind at that point but it works to nice effect on Ryann’s hair above! Lots of color in and around Eastern Market as well and Ryann Rocked it. Here’s another one…
Love the black on the black wall…
Here’s one from day two on a random ivy covered wall I just spotted as we were driving by…
Love it. That wall won’t be so random for us anymore!
And one more in this outfit on the Wayne State Campus which is really nice…
Now let’s bring Shane into the picture (pun intended) for this fun twin pic:
Awesome!!! Twinning and winning indeed and you can see we weren’t lyin’ about Ryann! We had so much fun with these two and we hope you enjoyed part 1 of the highlights! Part two is the next post!

Izabela – aka Izzy to her friends – is in the hizzy, and on our blog!!! What an adorable young lady, but we’re not surprised since we kinda watched her grow up and her parents are great people. But this summer has been the first time we’ve really had the chance to hang out with her and we’ve loved every minute of it! Her mom Nadica joined us for a wonderful day in Detroit – we laughed a lot and got some incredible photos, so let’s get to the highlights!
Izzy In The Hizzy
It was an afternoon session so we started first in the Eastern Market area, figuring our lighting for the Belle Isle photos would be better as the sun got a little lower in the sky for what we wanted. We went to one of our favorite walls first:
Okay how cute is she??? We also have some fun behind the scenes for you first from Facebook Live:
Next we hit up a spot that we’ve never used before – these painted cement barrel type things…. lol! We LOVE this one:
So cool!!!
In staying with the color texture theme we have this next one, where there is something about the wind blown look that we think is really appealing. Just a moment captured where Izzy looks so beautiful.
At this point we headed to Belle Isle and listen, these were really hard to choose to share for this post… We actually went to the graffiti bridge for some fun and we livestreamed there, but we’ve posted photos on the blog from there before and the last photo we’ll share is undeniable with the purple dress and purple flowers… First the Instagram LIVE at the bridge:
…and then the purple to leave you with:
WOW.
Okay so there it is – you can see why we were thrilled that Izzy was in the hizzy, and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!

We love Emma. She is just a burst of personality and total adorable-ness, and on top of that she’s clearly my spirit animal – we totally bonded over American history and that’s pretty much what we talked about while her mom Tara and Ally sat and watched during her consultation. We decided we’re going to go for coffee and talk about history one day lol! To that end, Emma had a plan for her love of books to be a part of her senior session and she had scoped out the venerable John K King Bookstore in Detroit as an essential locale in our plan – she even contacted the store where they were more than accommodating in letting us photograph there! This turned out to be the beginning of an EPIC day that ended up at our fave Chili Mustard Onions for dinner! So let’s get to what happened at the bookstore and more highlights in between as Emma Elevates the senior picture game!
Emma Elevates
John K King is a massive bookstore of used books that you MUST visit if you haven’t before. Here’s the behind the scenes Facebook LIVE broadcast where you can tell how giddy we were about photographing there!
And one of the results…
How beautiful! Emma looks amazing and it’s just such a cool photo that really captures a big part of who she is.
From there we headed over to Belle Isle where Emma and Tara had another great prop in store….
How fun is the bicycle and the flowers in the basket? The sky opened up right after this photo with a blast of rain as we scurried back to the car to wait it out. We just lucked out on that… it didn’t last long and it left behind a gorgeous rainbow in the sky.
We headed over to the edge of the island to get a skyline photo of Detroit and this one with the off-camera flash is awesome – it’s just more of Emma elevating…
Last but not least we headed over to Eastern Market for the murals and there’s a funny fruit mural Emma likes a lot so we used that one. Here’s the behind the scenes from Instagram LIVE (including a “Tara takeover” where Tara took over the broadcast)!
And here is the fun result!
Adorable!!!
And there you have it! Emma Elevates indeed – she slayed on this day! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!

Wow – Jeremy’s senior session was the jam – an epic day that took us from their home on the lake all the way down to Detroit for some Eastern Market Mustang Mural Madness and back to the studio for some pics with a KICK! What a day… and what a family! Love these guys and they joined us too!
Jeremy’s Jam
After a brief start at the homestead with a few extended family photos we headed to downtown Detroit and the Eastern Market neighborhood for a couple murals, but this was no ordinary senior-with-a-mural shot – okay none of them are “ordinary”, but this was a mural Jeremy and his parents had their eye on – a huge Ford Mustang, and a perfect spot to park Jeremy’s Mustang in front of! SO COOL – here’s a little video of us getting the shot and it took a little trial and error to get the lighting right but Ally finally found the spot for the off camera flash which you can see on the ground in this video…
…and here’s is the killer result!
Love that photo! A first for us of its kind…
We also grabbed another mural photo up close with Jeremy here – also a first with a mosaic wall we had been wanting to use for a while (we’ve already been back since):
Love it!
Session With A Kick
After a stop at Pie-Sci for the best Pizza in Detroit we headed back to the studio to finish things up and we started with the yearbook photo and then a few more formal pics…
Looking sharp!
Next we got some soccer gear going – we love sports photos especially when they’re on FIRE! Here’s some more behind the scenes fun this time from the replay of our Facebook Live broadcast:
And one of the fiery results (which almost burned down the studio…lol):
Another first – with the flaming ball on the foot! Jeremy’s Jam was a session of firsts and we got a real KICK out of it indeed! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with him!

It’s pretty hard to believe that after basically 9 years of photographing seniors that we never photographed a Farmington Falcon! So finally……enter Kristen! Kristen came to us as a cousin of some former seniors of ours and we were pretty excited to keep the chain going and get some Falcon love on our blog! Kristen was a perfect first Falcon too, so let’s get to it!
First Falcon…
Kristen had a little entourage for her session here at the studio and her lovely mom Jordon met us downtown for the location shoot at Eastern Market as well – much fun! After a quick few shots in the studio we stopped at a park in Farmington before we headed downtown and that’s where we’ll pick up the action:
Nice!!!
We also have some behind the scenes fun as usual from there in a Facebook Live replay:
At this point we headed downtown and we were actually a little nervous because it rained on the way down – it was NOT supposed to! But we lucked out – the weather held once we got down there and we were able to get some great shots. Not to mention an overcast sky can really work to your advantage anyway because the light is nice and diffused.
Love that…
Here’s another:
The color is so vibrant and with the flowers on Kristen’s shirt it ties in nicely!
Time for a little more behind the scenes fun this time from our YouTube Live broadcast replay!
And we’ll leave you with one more photo…
And there you have it! Our First Falcon was a winner and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!

We’ve had a ball photographing Jordyn while she’s been representing our studio as a spokesmodel for the class of 2018, and a perfect day in Detroit photographing Jordyn is definitely our jam. As was the case with Jordyn’s spokesmodel session this was a family affair with mom Stacy, dad Eric, and even older sister Sydney met up with us for part of the day! The game plan here other than the yearbook headshot at the studio was to explore Detroit and explore Detroit we did!
In Detroit Photographing Jordyn…
We started out at Belle Isle which is where we spent a good deal of time. The more we shoot there the more great spots we find. The first photo we’ll highlight is of Jordyn at the James Scott Memorial Fountain:
Great spot, great backlight, great senior! As I said we roamed around the island and even stopped at the beach for a few yoga poses as you’ll see in this fun behind the scenes replay of our Facebook Live video we did!
Here’s another photo with the unique aesthetic of looking through a natural window at our girl…
So cool and Jordyn looks amazing!
To Eastern Market…
At this point we headed over to the Eastern Market area for some murals to play with and some grit and we found plenty of both! First the mural:
Knowing where your light is and how to use it is key…. love the backlight on Jordyn’s hair once again!
We also have some more fun behind the scenes here as we headed into one of our fave empty buildings – this time from the replay of our YouTube Live video:
And the result with the grit:
Awesome shot to finish with! Yes being in Detroit photographing Jordyn is definitely our jam and you can see why! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!

Capturing Cara has become plenty fun for us here – she is a current spokesmodel for the class of 2018 so you may have seen her here before on her spokesmodel session, and she rocked her return! Cara’s brother Ben was a Frameable senior as well and parents Gina and Kenny round out a great family! Gina came on the session with us and we knew we’d be in for a fun time as long as the weather held up – for a while there the forecast wasn’t looking good but we lucked out! We headed down to the D and started out on Belle Isle…
Capturing Cara!
Here’s a spectacular shot of Cara with the Detroit River and the Renaissance Center in the background!
There are so many amazing spots on Belle Isle – here’s a little behind the scenes fun from our YouTube Live broadcast there!
…and one more shot before we focus on the Eastern Market area….
LOVE this with the yellow and black with Cara being framed by some yellow too!
At this point we headed over to the Eastern Market and Dequindre Cut to take advantage of the many murals and locations to work with there. Let’s start with Cara with a mural backdrop:
Loving it…
Let’s also see some more behind the scenes fun from our Facebook Live broadcast while we were down there!
And one more from this doorway we found – Cara was in the zone at this point – capturing Cara was a breeze!
A great day to be sure and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day capturing Cara!

We are loving Lauren’s likeness in Detroit! Actually I think we’re just loving it on our blog period – Lauren continues to prove why we are so excited about our class of 2018 spokesmodel crew! She came highly recommended and we could tell why the moment she and her mom Gabrielle walked into the studio. We just totally connected with them right away and that’s really how it’s been so far with this group. We were giddy about getting her in front of Ally’s camera and this session was scheduled to take place a couple days after we discovered the Michigan Building downtown with one of our current seniors. There was much more we wanted to explore down there as well as getting over to the Eastern Market for some murals so we had a great plan since Detroit has become more and more popular for senior sessions with the city’s much heralded comeback.
Loving Lauren’s Likeness…
As I mentioned our first stop was at the Michigan Building where we got a pretty cool angle of the amazing and decaying ceiling as a backdrop to our girl – check it out:
So cool!
As always we have some behind the scenes fun for you to show a little bit of the session and how we captured some of these photos. First we have the Periscope replay – if you want to join in the fun at @FrameableFaces on the app you can do that here or if you simply want to check out the broadcasts from Twitter you can do that too.
We also wanted to get over to Eastern Market and do a little mural exploring – these have also become very popular for our seniors in Detroit. We just love being down there – Detroit is so cool…
Lauren is looking great – ripped jeans are a cool look in the city too!
Let’s look at a little more behind the scenes fun, this time from Facebook Live:
Here is a look at a couple more photos… First we’ll show one more from a mural at Eastern Market:
And lastly here’s a closer photo with this half crop… also a very popular shot with various walls for us:
So yeah… we were loving Lauren’s likeness in Detroit and we hope you enjoyed the highlights! We can’t wait to get her back into the studio for her senior portraits soon! We’ll leave you with the fun Snapchat story from the day!

It’s clear that Alison arrives in style as she did on the day of her senior session which took us all around Detroit! This included Belle Isle which we traversed and found a couple of new trails and spots there (that’s three senior posts in a row with new spots). We also spent some time exploring Eastern Market and we even made a stop for a bite at one of Detroit’s many amazing local eateries – Parks & Rec! So you could say we really killed it – a great day with great results!
Alison Arrives…
Alison’s mom Cindy came with us for our adventure and we had a great time! We started on Belle Isle and our first shot is a new spot which will be known as Alison’s bridge from now on for our sessions down there! Very cool…
We also have plenty of behind the scenes action to share – starting with a broadcast replay from Periscope! You can download the app and be a part of our broadcasts by following us at @FrameableFaces at this link, or you can just watch from Twitter here.
After Belle Isle we headed over to the Eastern Market to hunt for some murals, abandoned buildings, and graffiti and we found a little of each! Here’s one more broadcast this time from Facebook before we headed over there…
Over at Eastern Market we started out with this cool mural…
Love it!
We also headed back to what is becoming one of our favorite abandoned buildings down there for this photo:
Yasssssss Alison!
At this point after a pit stop at Parks & Rec for a little yummy brunch we headed back to the studio for a few more and we’ll leave you with one of those on the black background:
What a session, what a day, and what a senior! Alison arrived in style for sure and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!
