Landscape Photos In The National Parks Of The American West!
We took an epic road trip through the American West in May/June – just Ally, Doug, Lacey and Tony in a Ford Escape.
15 days, 13 states, 9 National Parks, national forests, visits with friends in multiple cities, 3 homes of United States presidents…. whew. It was AWESOME.
Ally doesn’t always bring her camera on our trips but she did on this one and took some landscape photos – a change of pace for her with the greatest outdoor subjects imaginable! America’s National Parks!
Landscape Photos In the National Parks Of The American West!
Now keep in mind she didn’t document the entire trip – we highly recommend you check out the companion piece to this post at Doug’s History blog at his M10 Social website for the entire story, tons of commentary, videos, tips and recommendations for your own roadtrip (you should definitely do it). Doug is a very good amateur iPhoneographer and we did a lot of hiking on this trip and Ally wasn’t about to take her bulky camera on strenuous hikes. But the photos Ally did take? Well….
How awesome are those Prairie Dogs????? Roberts Prairie Dog Town at Badlands National Park is amazing. There are prairie dogs in several different locations at the Badlands but this one area is the “town” where you can just sit and watch them for as long as you like. It’s a totally natural habitat – just because they call it a “town” doesn’t mean they have an exhibit like at the zoo or anything – this is the real deal. And it’s not like you have to get lucky to see them – there are tons of them although you definitely have to get extremely lucky to get THREE of them to POSE like this crew, and Ally did! She just has that touch lol….
Here’s another photo from the Badlands…
Here’s a view of Mt. Rushmore.
The next several photos are from Yellowstone National Park with its wondrous thermal basins and wildlife…
We saw bison everywhere at both Badlands and Yellowstone!
Obviously seeing a chipmunk isn’t unique to National Parks but we couldn’t resist this little furball having a snack.
Yellowstone Lake is really spectacular and we came across this elk hanging out too…
Love that photo.
Last one from Yellowstone – the Grand Prismatic Spring!
Here are a couple from the next day at Grand Teton National Park which borders Yellowstone to the South.
Such a majestic place….
Here’s one from the south rim of the Grand Canyon (the north rim opened just a few days after we were there).
We also made a stop at Horseshoe Bend later on the same day we hit the Grand Canyon:
The next several photos we’ll leave you with are from 4 of the “Utah Mighty Five” but we did indeed get to all five of them!
A trip of a lifetime and we cannot wait to get back out there….
We hope you enjoyed these highlights from out west!
Raechele and Tim Have Such A Great Family! Much Fun!
Family portraits are a lot of fun for us here at the studio, and Raechele and Tim’s crew were no exception! They were a delight to have here and their two sons Mercer and Ellis did a great job! Listen, we get it that young teenaged boys don’t necessarily dream about getting dressed up in suits to pose for photos, but these two were total gentlemen and they made the best of it! We had plenty of laughs and a generally great time. Everyone looked great and we’ve got some outstanding results to share!!!
Let’s get to it.
Raechele, Tim, Mercer and Ellis!
Let’s start with the whole group:
Yes! A classic portrait!
We also have a little behind the scenes fun from Facebook:
And now the happy couple:
We are fans.
Now we’ve got the dudes in the spotlight:
Handsome young men!
We’ll leave you with one more:
They crushed it!
So there you have it! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our time with Raechele, Tim, Mercer and Ellis!
Ending In Epic Fashion With Elana – A High Note For Class Of ’23!
So listen, we love our seniors. All of them. And that doesn’t change if we say that we MAY have saved the best for last. We aren’t playing favorites here, but Elana’s session was EPIC. As the likely last senior for the class of 2023 we can say we ended in epic fashion indeed, including a first for us of photographing at Jack White’s Third Man Records in Detroit! So cool. This was also an encore for Elana since they appeared on this blog before as a spokesmodel for the class of 2023! Elana’s mom Barrett and latecomer dad David (haha) both joined us for this session and we’re pretty psyched to show you some highlights. Let’s get to it.
Ending in Epic Fashion With Elana
We started out as I said at Third Man Records and if you haven’t been there you need to go. What an amazing place and they were pressing vinyl in the back while we were there. Here’s one of the highlights!
And here’s some behind the scenes fun from Facebook…
We weren’t done with cool locales though… next up was the venerable John K King Bookstore – the biggest in the state! We have photographed there before and we love that place.
Love!
Next we have more behind the scenes down at the riverfront in Detroit from Instagram…

…and the result!
Fabulous! Elana is adorable.
And we’ll leave you with this closeup:
YASSSSSS
What a day. We love photographing Elana and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with them!

Go BLUE and Go Wolverine Grads!
We’ve got several groups to share some highlights of – we’ll start with this crew at the law quad!
Here’s one of Mikaela solo whom we’ve known forever….
Next up another solo session and with a former Frameable senior Lexi!
Next group of Wolverines – this fabulous crew of young ladies also containing a former Frameable senior Chloe, and we were so happy to meet these girls – they were a delight!
What a group! And they came ready to celebrate too…. here’s some behind the scenes fun!

Last but not least come the dudes at the Big House!!! This was a blast – even with a major rain delay which “forced” us into the locker room for a few pics, and a shout out to our uber talented photographer friend Susan Adams for the collab on this one – we’ve worked with her a bunch of times and she’s awesome.
Go Blue guys!
Here’s some behind the scenes from the Big House:

Spartans Will, and We Will (and did) Photograph Them!
Spring time is fast becoming one of our favorite seasons for the studio because of all the college grads we have been photographing, and this post is one of those extra special ones for us – we’ll get to that at the end… 😉
Spartan Strong and Spartans Will, So Sparty On!
Listen, we are more than aware having been a part of it ourselves with our son Tony that the Spartan graduating class of 2023 arguably went through more adversity than most graduating classes in the history of our country. They were the class who was sent home as freshman for the pandemic lockdown, and then as seniors they endured the trauma of the mass shooting tragedy that took the lives of three fellow Spartans on campus this year. As a group and as a community they persevered and came out strong on the other side, bonded and united together and ready for the future. We are just happy we got to celebrate some smiles with a handful of them to focus on the overall great experience that each one of them ultimately had in East Lansing.
So here are a few images of a couple of the groups we photographed on the banks of the Red Cedar!
First up: Rachel, Elyssa, and Maggie!
Adorable! And now it’s time to really celebrate!!!
Haha…
Next group… Ellie, Leah and Kailee!
Gotta get the pic with Sparty…
Professionally we don’t want to show favorites. Personally this next senior is our all time favorite…. we saved him for last.
OUR TONY!!!
And with his adorable girlfriend, Willa!
We’re soooooo proud of him.
And there you have it! Spartans will indeed and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of a few of our sessions in East Lansing!
It’s Time For The Class of 2024 Spokesmodel Panorama-RAMA!
Yep – it’s that time again – we’ve wrapped up our Class of 2024 spokesmodel photo sessions and each year Doug likes to present his amateur behind the scenes iPhone pano pics from the sessions! Just a fun and unique way to stack the panos and recap these fantastic days with our crew! Enjoy!

We’re Jazzed For Jonah’s Senior Spokesmodel Session!
Yep we’re jazzed to share the highlights of Jonah’s senior spokesmodel session! We photographed him once before when he was younger for headshots, and now he’s back representing the class of 2024 for the West Bloomfield Lakers! The parentals Wendy and Howard joined us (we even put Howard to work) for a great day! Let’s get to the highlights…
Jazzed for Jonah
We actually started out at the Franklin Cider Mill which is a great location that we’ve returned to (for photos and goodies in the fall).
Looking good Jonah! Time for an outfit change – our seniors can change outfits as many times as they like during our 3 hour sessions.
And here’s some fun behind the scenes from Facebook before we head to another location:
At this point we headed to the next spot for this one:
So cool! Here’s some more behind the scenes this time from Instagram:

…and we’ll leave you with this one of Jonah and his BEST FRIEND Cooper! Hehe… Yes seniors can bring a pet to their session!
And there you have it – we were jazzed for Jonah and with good reason! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with him and we are so excited to photograph the seniors of the rising class of 2024!

Fiery Antics With Anthony and More on His Spokesmodel Session!
Bringing home the class of 2024 senior spokesmodel crew with the dudes! Anthony crushed it – you might even say he was on FIRE!!! We weren’t surprised – Anthony is a great kid and we go wayyyyyy back with his parents. His dad John and Doug were football teammates at Michigan so we’re talking 35 years… pretty surreal to have Anthony here representing the Catholic Central Shamrocks for our spokesmodel team! His mom Lynne joined us at the studio for these epic photos – let’s get to them…
Fiery Antics With Anthony
Anthony is a student athlete and he works hard at his craft whether on the gridiron or in the shot put and discus circles (and especially in the weight room) and we wanted to capture that grit and badassery so….
Like we said…..dude was on FIRE!!!
Here’s some fun behind the scenes as well first from Facebook:
After the flames died down we got to the business of capturing more angles of our guy’s personality of which he has plenty!
Looking great!
Smiling Shamrock!
We also changed backdrops to get a few on the white – our seniors typically try out plenty of different looks, backdrops, and locations too! Here’s some more behind the scenes from Instagram:

Totally Loving Talia On Our Class Of 2024 Spokesmodel Team!
Talia is awesome – we are totally loving having her on our team as part of the class of 2024 senior spokesmodel crew! This rising senior-to-be at Frankel Jewish Academy was here for a fantastic photo session and if these spokesmodels are a sign of things to come the class of 2024 is going to crush it!!!! Let’s get to some highlights!
Totally Loving Talia
We planned on spending all of our time in studio because the weather was not looking good. Typically if there is definitely rain coming we’ll reschedule our seniors but with spokesmodels we can spend time in the studio playing with different backdrops, lighting etc. So that’s how we started out:
The red paper backdrop is always a winner – love this photo!
Talia is also a bit of a sneakerhead and she brought a full suitcase of shoes – which we LOVE.
Okay she’s adorable.
We also have a little behind the scenes from the studio on Facebook:
