Olivia’s senior session was indeed a special one – an epic day in the D – so much so it makes us want to shout OliviYEAH!!!!! We had a blast with her and her mom Amy. We’ve actually known them for years and so these sessions can get very surreal when we’ve known our senior for so long – in this case with a senior Ally actually photographed when Olivia was only 18 months old! We covered a lot of ground and we hope you enjoy these highlights! They’re pretty dope (right Olivia?).
OliviYEAH!!!
We started off in the studio for a few photos before heading downtown and we did a little of our “black and blowy” – the black backdrop with the fan blowing on Olivia’s hair:
Quite awesome with the heightened dramatic look of the black and white! Timeless…
At this point we headed downtown for some adventure – and we lucked out because the forecast hadn’t been looking so great for our day as recent as 24-48 hours prior. But we ended up with a fab day… First stop, Belle Isle…
Love that photo at the fountain!!! Olivia looks adorable and we have some fun behind the scenes as well, first with the raw footage from the Instagram Live replay:
Next we headed over to the Belt alleyway downtown for a few photos including this one:
Just love it!!! And here’s a little more behind the scenes fun this time from Facebook Live:
We made a few more stops around town including Eastern Market where we got this awesome close up of Olivia just being Olivia with a big beautiful smile!
And there you have it! Actually since this session was so epic we had to include the Snapchat story which has a few fun moments – enjoy!
We hope you liked these highlights and now you see why they have us saying “OliviYEAH”!!!!

Professional headshots are important for lots of reasons and lots of different needs. For starters they look….well….professional, and if you are looking for a job, promoting your brand, modeling, or looking to get your personality across in a way that does it right your best bet is to trust a pro – not just Ally but in general. Here we have a few recent ones to share with you just for fun, partly because it may be helpful, give you an idea or two, and let’s be real – we just like these people and we want them on our blog.
Get Your Professional Headshots!
We’ll start with Jack. Jack is a bad dude and freshly graduated from the University of Michigan – he’s heading out into the workplace, already has a gig lined up and needs a nice professional photo to put online – like LinkedIn perhaps. When it comes to professional headshots for many LinkedIn is the go to because that’s typically where you represent your professional self. Yes LinkedIn is social, but it’s social in a professional context so if you’re a consultant or an attorney you may not want a funny photo of you eating a burger which could be good for a giggle on Facebook for example. These are relatively standard with a slight difference in posture from one to the next which signals a little more engagement with the viewer respectively…
Jack
And now leaning in a little…
There are lots of nuances to the posing depending on how you want to represent yourself…
Of course it wouldn’t be a Frameable Faces blog post without some behind the scenes fun right? Just a quick blast from twitter…
Next we have Leah – Leah is an aspiring model and needed some photos to send to agencies and eventually maybe some comp cards – we do plenty of these and they’re a lot of fun! Leah was great in front of the camera!!!
Here’s a little Facebook fun behind the scenes from Leah’s session….
And here’s one more from Leah… what a rock star!
Ken
Last but not least here’s Ken – yes you recognize him as the play-by-play announcer for the Detroit Red Wings on Fox Sports Detroit. Ken is obviously an established guy and needed a few different photos for various things he has going and in his case while we used the same blue / grey mottled backdrop we used for Jack above we changed it up and did a couple professional and a couple casual. Different styles for different uses.
Here’s the casual in three quarter length:
Some behind the scenes fun where you can see Ken switched to a more formal look…
…and the result:
Success!
And now all three of them have the professional headshots to help them with their successes in the world! Hope you enjoyed this photo essay – we sure enjoyed having them here at the studio!

When we asked our son Tony who is a junior at Bloomfield Hills High School who did he think would be a perfect spokesmodel at his school – a girl who is nice, social, well liked, smart and fun with a little extra online influence perhaps, the first name he spoke was Kaitlyn. He was spot on! This girl is amazing. Sharp, sweet and with an infectious laugh like no one’s business, she is perfect! And her spokesmodel session was perfect too! It wasn’t easy – while the light was great the wind was not. It was windy as all get out down in the D which can pose a challenge for a girl with long hair, and it wasn’t exactly warm either, but Kaitlyn still rocked it and produced some of the images that we know will prove to live on as Frameable iconic photos. So let’s get to it!
Detroit Takeover With Kaitlyn
Kaitlyn’s mom Sara is a delight as well and she came with us down to Detroit where we started off on Belle Isle as we frequently do when we head down there. The first photo we’re sharing here is the best Detroit Skyline photo we’ve taken and all it took was recognizing that we needed a different vantage point than we’ve used in the past! We couldn’t be happier with how this looks…
Gorgeous Girl!
Now we did a livestream on Instagram but were unable to record it – however we think Kaitlyn’s Snapchat story was just as good so this time we’ll start with that for some of our fun behind the scenes…
An outfit change and here we are with another closer up with our girl…
At this point we headed into downtown to the Belt Alley and got this awesome photo with these vibrant colors!
Here we have some more behind the scenes fun with our Facebook Live Video replay from the Belt – as you can see Tony actually came along with us on Kaitlyn’s session and they took a few photos together which will surface soon….. 🙂
At this point we made one more location change, heading over to some of the more ratchet areas of the Eastern Market for a little urban decay which makes for great photos! We’ll leave you with this one…
Love.
And there you have it – a spectacular spokesmodel Detroit takeover with Kaitlyn! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our time with her and we cannot wait to do it again for her senior pictures soon!!!

Senior sessions in and around Detroit always get us excited – there’s just such a buzz around the city and so much to photograph! It’s even better when we have a senior who is down for some fun with personality, style, and the whole fam! Yep Sarah’s parents and older sister came along and we all had a great time! Sarah is a sweetheart and we are pleased to present the highlights of our day with her!
Sarah Around Detroit!
We started on Belle Isle which is how we typically roll – it’s a great location with all kinds of spots to discover – we’ll pick up the action there:
Love that, and love the aesthetically pleasing match of Sarah’s top to the brick around her!
We also have some fun behind the scenes for you as we usually do – first with the replay of the YouTube Live broadcast at Belle Isle:
Here’s a photo now of Sarah over by the conservatory where we found plenty of flowers to play with – and why not with Sarah’s flowery dress!
At this point we left the island to head over to The Belt where there are fun murals to play with, and we captured this fun photo:
So cool with all the colors, and here is the behind the scenes this time from the Facebook Live broadcast replay!
Back to the studio…
At this point it was time to get back to the studio for our signature “black and blowy” setup and we’ll leave you with one of those:
Um……stunning!!!
And there you have it! A stunning session with Sarah in and around Detroit and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day!

Ben’s senior session in the big D was totally bomb indeed. We are photographing seniors in Detroit more and more these days and Ben is a buddy of both of our kids – it’s kinda cool this year for us with some of our seniors because this is the class in between our 2 and Ben we’ve known for a while so it was a ton of fun. Ben’s mom Erin is great too – she came along and we laughed a lot on this session!
Senior Session In The Big D…
We started on Belle Isle which is pretty typical for us when we head down to Detroit and we’ll pick up the action there with the fountain in the background:
At this point we headed over to The Belt alley to get a few more shots and we have some behind the scenes fun from the replay of our Facebook Live broadcast:
…and here is one of the resulting photos:
We then made another stop over by the Eastern Market to one of our favorite empty buildings for a little urban decay vibe (even though Detroit is very much “un-decaying” and coming back strong these days).
Ben – totally Bomb!
We headed back to the studio at this point for a fiery finish to the session – totally bomb! Here’s the fun behind the scenes action from the YouTube Live replay:
And the killer result!
Bad dude right there….
And there you have it – Ben’s session was totally bomb indeed and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with him!

It’s pretty hard to believe that after basically 9 years of photographing seniors that we never photographed a Farmington Falcon! So finally……enter Kristen! Kristen came to us as a cousin of some former seniors of ours and we were pretty excited to keep the chain going and get some Falcon love on our blog! Kristen was a perfect first Falcon too, so let’s get to it!
First Falcon…
Kristen had a little entourage for her session here at the studio and her lovely mom Jordon met us downtown for the location shoot at Eastern Market as well – much fun! After a quick few shots in the studio we stopped at a park in Farmington before we headed downtown and that’s where we’ll pick up the action:
Nice!!!
We also have some behind the scenes fun as usual from there in a Facebook Live replay:
At this point we headed downtown and we were actually a little nervous because it rained on the way down – it was NOT supposed to! But we lucked out – the weather held once we got down there and we were able to get some great shots. Not to mention an overcast sky can really work to your advantage anyway because the light is nice and diffused.
Love that…
Here’s another:
The color is so vibrant and with the flowers on Kristen’s shirt it ties in nicely!
Time for a little more behind the scenes fun this time from our YouTube Live broadcast replay!
And we’ll leave you with one more photo…
And there you have it! Our First Falcon was a winner and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!

We gushed about Dani plenty when we blogged about her spokesmodel session and after knowing her for about 6 months as she’s represented the studio for the class of 2018 we can say with certainty it was all justified. We LOVE this girl and we definitely had a dazzling day with her in Detroit! Her mom Diana came along for the fun and as you’ll see it was a session to remember.
Dazzling Day With Dani
Many of the highlights of this session ended up being in The Belt which we’ll get to, but we started out on Belle Isle and captured this stunner:
Wow – dazzling right? I also have to say that I’ve been playing around with the new Snapchat filters on my iPhone for some of the behind the scenes stuff we put on our Snapchat stories and I think this one of Ally capturing the photo of Dani above is worth including here – like a cool little painting…
Meanwhile we have the YouTube live broadcast replay from Belle Isle as well for you here:
Now let’s head over to The Belt in downtown Detroit where we captured some real winners!
Love it – and here is the behind the scenes Facebook Live broadcast replay that goes with that shot:
Her outfit seemed to be just perfect for the colors there too….
We also went to an art gallery there that rotates installations of different mediums and we’ve been lucky enough to be there when they invited us in to take photos. That’s where this last one was captured:
So cool! And there you have it – a dazzling day in Detroit with Dani indeed! We hope you enjoyed the highlights!

We’ve had a ball photographing Jordyn while she’s been representing our studio as a spokesmodel for the class of 2018, and a perfect day in Detroit photographing Jordyn is definitely our jam. As was the case with Jordyn’s spokesmodel session this was a family affair with mom Stacy, dad Eric, and even older sister Sydney met up with us for part of the day! The game plan here other than the yearbook headshot at the studio was to explore Detroit and explore Detroit we did!
In Detroit Photographing Jordyn…
We started out at Belle Isle which is where we spent a good deal of time. The more we shoot there the more great spots we find. The first photo we’ll highlight is of Jordyn at the James Scott Memorial Fountain:
Great spot, great backlight, great senior! As I said we roamed around the island and even stopped at the beach for a few yoga poses as you’ll see in this fun behind the scenes replay of our Facebook Live video we did!
Here’s another photo with the unique aesthetic of looking through a natural window at our girl…
So cool and Jordyn looks amazing!
To Eastern Market…
At this point we headed over to the Eastern Market area for some murals to play with and some grit and we found plenty of both! First the mural:
Knowing where your light is and how to use it is key…. love the backlight on Jordyn’s hair once again!
We also have some more fun behind the scenes here as we headed into one of our fave empty buildings – this time from the replay of our YouTube Live video:
And the result with the grit:
Awesome shot to finish with! Yes being in Detroit photographing Jordyn is definitely our jam and you can see why! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!

Capturing Cara has become plenty fun for us here – she is a current spokesmodel for the class of 2018 so you may have seen her here before on her spokesmodel session, and she rocked her return! Cara’s brother Ben was a Frameable senior as well and parents Gina and Kenny round out a great family! Gina came on the session with us and we knew we’d be in for a fun time as long as the weather held up – for a while there the forecast wasn’t looking good but we lucked out! We headed down to the D and started out on Belle Isle…
Capturing Cara!
Here’s a spectacular shot of Cara with the Detroit River and the Renaissance Center in the background!
There are so many amazing spots on Belle Isle – here’s a little behind the scenes fun from our YouTube Live broadcast there!
…and one more shot before we focus on the Eastern Market area….
LOVE this with the yellow and black with Cara being framed by some yellow too!
At this point we headed over to the Eastern Market and Dequindre Cut to take advantage of the many murals and locations to work with there. Let’s start with Cara with a mural backdrop:
Loving it…
Let’s also see some more behind the scenes fun from our Facebook Live broadcast while we were down there!
And one more from this doorway we found – Cara was in the zone at this point – capturing Cara was a breeze!
A great day to be sure and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day capturing Cara!

Yes we are huge fans of Lauren and her mom Gabrielle, and it’s been so much fun having Lauren represent our studio as a spokesmodel for the class of 2018! Her spokesmodel session was truly epic and we spent much of it in Detroit at the old Michigan Building and around Eastern Market. It was one of those sessions that sticks out for sure – just awesome. So we had a slight dilemma – we loved exploring around Detroit and they wanted to go back for Lauren’s senior session. Hey we’re always up for a Detroit session since there is so much going on down there and so many amazing places to shoot. The question was could we possibly top what we already did down there? Hmmmmm…. Could we reach an even higher level with Lauren?
Reaching an even higher level with Lauren…
Ally predicted that we would indeed be able to kick it up yet another notch. And frankly I was confident too – we usually do. We suggested Belle Isle which hadn’t been on Lauren’s radar but she trusted us. Besides there was a little discussion around whether a beach shot might be nice – we had never used the Belle Isle Beach. So we set out with plenty of possibility and adventure in the air and the results? Well…… see for yourself.
Great one to start with right? Love the framing of our girl with the vines!
We also have plenty of behind the scenes fun as usual with some live broadcast replays (excuse my raggedy voice – I was recovering from being pretty well under the weather for a few days). First we went live on YouTube. If you want to tune in to other broadcasts be sure to hit the red subscribe button at our channel!
We ended up spending a ton of time on Belle Isle – some shots at the fountain, a few at the willow tree above, and a few over by the conservatory including this colorful one with all the pretty flowers surrounding Lauren!
I also had a little fun of my own with the pano feature on my iPhone – just for fun here is one at the conservatory that I thought was kind of cool…
AMATEUR iPhone panoramic photo for fun!
Next we headed around to the other side of the island to the beach which we pretty much had to ourselves and this turned out to be a great call! Here is the fun behind the scenes Facebook Live broadcast replay where Gabrielle even took over for a few minutes as guest host as I struggled a little with the wind trying to reflect some light on our subject!
And here is one of the fantastic results. LOVE this of Lauren…
So yeah…. awesome stuff at Belle Isle! But we weren’t done….
To The Belt!
The Belt is a very cool alley in downtown Detroit where we’ve taken photos several times and Lauren had her eye on it so we headed over there for a few and we found this ultra cool art gallery there. They let us come right in and shoot, and sometimes these unplanned things prove to be major highlights! I took another pano while Ally was setting this one up…
Another AMATEUR iPhone panoramic photo for fun!
And here is the result!!!
Wow right???
What a day – we actually finished it up with lunch at Johnny Noodle King and it was the perfect end to a day we won’t soon forget as we indeed reached a higher level with Lauren in our Detroit return! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day!
