Dehko is on the rise and they were here in the studio for some updated headshots… If you like techno you need to get on these local DJ brothers Sam and Jordan who really bring it! Just having them here was hype enough – we had a blast with these guys!

Ava is a character and we are huge fans. We had so much fun with her, and her photos? OMG. She’s a pro – tons of style and sass and the day we spent with her and her mom Stacie whom we went to high school with was one we won’t soon forget! A great time in Detroit and we can’t wait to do it again on her senior session. We are pleased to have her representing our studio at Bloomfield Hills High School for the class of 2020! Let’s get to the photos…
All About Ava
Our plan was to go to Belle Isle first and this was where the adventure started… the ramp to get onto I-75 south from I-94 was closed so we ended up heading in the opposite direction which put us right by an industrial center where we have taken some images before so we figured while we were there we would get a few….
And wow. Right off the bat Ava was in the zone – what a gorgeous image.
After a little time there we headed back down to our original destination and…..they were setting up for the Grand Prix. Ugh! No worries – we still got our skyline image that has become popular for Detroit sessions and we have a little fun behind the scenes from our livestream on Facebook:
And here is the result:
Detroit and Ava vs. Everybody!
Next we headed over to Eastern Market to get a few photos on a particular wall that we love (after a lunch break at Chili Mustard Onions – YUM).
As you can imagine we had a really tough time narrowing down photos from this session… Ava looked fantastic!
We also have more behind the scenes this time from the livestream we did on Instagram!
Last but not least after bouncing around the D a little more we made it back to the studio for a few photos on the black backdrop (most of our seniors do a combination of studio and location for their sessions) and we’ll leave you with this stunner…
Great one to end on! We were all about Ava that day indeed and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!

What a year (so far) it’s been for our Class of 2019 seniors! We decided to go back for the first time and create an EPIC recap video of the best of the Class of 2019 Senior Snapchat Stories for you! We know not everyone has Snapchat, and even if they do they may not have caught all of our stories throughout the senior season so here we go…
The Class of 2019 Senior Snapchat Stories
This video makes us smile the whole way through – it’s about 15 minutes long and includes everyone we shared highlights of publicly throughout – from Detroit to Ann Arbor, Pontiac to New York, summer, fall and winter, with plenty of wildlife, laughs, squad selfies and other shenanigans – but most of all our SENIORS!!! We love these young people and there are still more of them to come so there will likely be a part 2…
Enjoy!

Wow what a day with Loren! Loren was so adorable the first time she came to the studio – she had been following along with some of our sessions on Instagram and elsewhere on social media as many do and she was totally fired up for her turn! She and her mom Lili had some great ideas for the session and it led us to some things we had never tried before! We’ll get to that in a little bit, but suffice it to say (as you’re about to see) this was a legendary day with Loren for sure! Dad Eugen and little bro David even hung out and jumped in for a couple photos at one point so it was a family affair and we had a lot of fun, but this blog post is about Loren, so let’s get to a few pics!
Legendary Day
We started on Belle Isle as we often do and got this image of our girl with the skyline in the background:
We also have some fun behind the scenes from the day starting with the replay from the livestream on Instagram!
We stayed on Belle Isle for a bit and also got this pretty photo of Loren in the willow!
Love that one!
At this point we switched locations and headed over to the Belt where we captured a cool pic of Loren looking off to her future! Hehe…
The overalls with the Hamilton socks rock!
And now for the coup d’état! It was getting towards evening and it was a little chilly – not quite carnival weather, and yet we had plans for the carousel on the riverwalk – add a perfect dress to match and a legendary photo is created! We even made this one into a metal sample for the studio! Truly a fairy tale photo – and first here’s the behind the scenes on Facebook Live!
And the result!
Amazing!
Yes it was a legendary day that we won’t forget with Loren, and we hope you enjoyed the highlights!

A happy Hannah happening was what we had in downtown Detroit on this senior session! We go back to high school with Hannah’s mom Robyn so this was one of those surreal sessions for us and it was certainly one to remember! Hannah’s dad Glenn came along as well and we had a blast. As for Hannah we just have to say that she has this fun and infectious personality that totally draws you in – just a cool and nice girl who isn’t afraid to have a good laugh! We loved working with her and she had an amazing session, so let’s get to the pics!
Happy Hannah Happening in the D
Hannah decided on Detroit so we spent all of our time there, and we started on Belle Isle where we got the cool skyline photo that we love!
Okay she’s adorable.
We also have some fun behind the scenes for you first from the replay of the Facebook Live broadcast:
We grabbed a few more photos on Belle Isle too – first on the red bridge up close and personal with our girl:
That backlight is kickin’!
And we also went back to the graffiti bridge – here’s some more behind the scenes from Instagram:
….and the result:
Love it!!!
We made a location change to Eastern Market to finish up the day and found a few awesome murals – here’s one of them to leave you with:
A happy Hannah happening indeed!!! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!

A breakaway in hockey is when a player has the puck and an open skating lane to the net with no one in front of her. That’s how we felt with Morgan on her senior session – nothing stopping us and nothing stopping this girl! Morgan is one of our spokesmodels for the class of 2019 and we were looking forward to this session – especially since Little Caesars Arena is her team’s home ice and we were able to get on the ice for a few photos! But more on that later…
A Stunning Breakaway Senior Session…
Morgan’s mom Jodi joined us for an overall epic day in Detroit which started on Belle Isle. We really thought we might be in trouble with the weather but that day was pretty much do or die scheduling wise and it started to pour on the way down. Uh oh…. BUT – lo and behold it stopped when we got to Belle Isle and there wasn’t another drop from the time we started photographing Morgan! Let’s start with this amazing new angle of the D as the backdrop for this stunning image of our girl!
WOWWWWWWW. Such a cool image and Morgan looks fantastic!
Here’s one up close and personal:
At this point we headed over to Eastern Market to get some murals and we fired up the Instagram LIVE for some behind the scenes fun:
And here’s a cool mural shot with Morgan’s reflection in the water from the day’s rains…
Just love that one…
Now it was time to head over to Little Caesar’s Arena and with a little assist from Red Wings Zamboni legend and building manager Al Sobotka we headed on down to the practice ice where Morgan’s team the Little Caesar’s 19U Girls AAA plays. Here’s the fun behind the scenes from Facebook Live!
And we’ll leave you with this fun photo from the ice!
Okay actually we’ll leave you with the Snapchat story from the day because it’s just too good…. including the fiery setup in the studio after a stop at Chili Mustard Onions for lunch! So much to cover – too much to cram all of it into a blog post!!! Lol…
And there you have it – a stunning breakaway senior session with Morgan in Hockeytown indeed! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!

Wow – Jeremy’s senior session was the jam – an epic day that took us from their home on the lake all the way down to Detroit for some Eastern Market Mustang Mural Madness and back to the studio for some pics with a KICK! What a day… and what a family! Love these guys and they joined us too!
Jeremy’s Jam
After a brief start at the homestead with a few extended family photos we headed to downtown Detroit and the Eastern Market neighborhood for a couple murals, but this was no ordinary senior-with-a-mural shot – okay none of them are “ordinary”, but this was a mural Jeremy and his parents had their eye on – a huge Ford Mustang, and a perfect spot to park Jeremy’s Mustang in front of! SO COOL – here’s a little video of us getting the shot and it took a little trial and error to get the lighting right but Ally finally found the spot for the off camera flash which you can see on the ground in this video…
…and here’s is the killer result!
Love that photo! A first for us of its kind…
We also grabbed another mural photo up close with Jeremy here – also a first with a mosaic wall we had been wanting to use for a while (we’ve already been back since):
Love it!
Session With A Kick
After a stop at Pie-Sci for the best Pizza in Detroit we headed back to the studio to finish things up and we started with the yearbook photo and then a few more formal pics…
Looking sharp!
Next we got some soccer gear going – we love sports photos especially when they’re on FIRE! Here’s some more behind the scenes fun this time from the replay of our Facebook Live broadcast:
And one of the fiery results (which almost burned down the studio…lol):
Another first – with the flaming ball on the foot! Jeremy’s Jam was a session of firsts and we got a real KICK out of it indeed! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with him!

It’s time for the Jack Attack!!! As in Jack’s senior pics in Detroit where we had an epic day! Jack is a legacy here which is always fun since we photographed his big sis Kylie too a couple years ago! With Jack we hit a bunch of spots including some Pie-Sci Pizza which is becoming our go to – we love hanging in Detroit! Jack’s mom Kelly joined as well, so let’s get to the highlights shall we?
Jack Attack in the D
We started out at Belle Isle and we used the fountain with a new angle that we haven’t used before for a really cool photo of Jack with the fountain way in the distance…
Love this – pretty sure we’ll be doing this again – it will be known as “The Jack” shot.
We also have some behind the scenes first from the replay of our Instagram Live broadcast:
We also grabbed a photo of Jack on the red bridge that we really like there before moving on to get some murals…
At this point we headed over to the Eastern Market to get some photos of Jack with some murals and we discovered this huge one of some of Jack’s favorite hip hop artists – we’re including it here as an extra for fun – Jack is small in the photo but the whole thing is pretty sweet – check it out:
And here we have some behind the scenes this time from Facebook Live before we get to a couple more photos:
Fun right? Okay two more photos:
Lots of great spots to photograph in the D…
And there you have it – the Detroit takeover with the Jack Attack! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with him!

So yeah this kid Kyle here….. he’s a keeper and so is his senior session! What a great kid! We had a great day in Detroit with his parents Dawn and Mark and Mark even guest hosted a livestream which you’ll see below! Kyle is a Bloomfield Hills Blackhawk and we’re excited to show you a few highlights from our day!
Kid Kyle Is A Keeper
We started out at Belle Isle to get a bunch of photos including the Detroit skyline shot. We fired up the Facebook Live and Kyle’s dad Mark guest hosted the broadcast! He did a fine job…
Fun! And more importantly we got this killer photo of Kyle with Detroit in the background:
So cool!
We also used a few structures on the island including this new angle…
Very cool. Kid Kyle was killin’ it!
At this point we headed back downtown to The Belt Alleyway to get a few more and we fired up the Instagram livestream:
…and here are a couple results:
Definitely one of our faves from the session and pretty sure it’s another new spot with this pose for us!
One more up close:
Awesome – good lookin’ dude!
And there you have it – Kid Kyle killed it – he’s a keeper for sure and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day!

Maksim has been in front of Ally’s camera before along with the whole fam, and we personally go back with his dad Mike a long way – for Doug about 42 years! So we were excited for the opportunity to photograph Maks for his senior pictures and we had a mega gameplan to takeover Detroit to do it! The whole fam came along – mom Sue and little bro Viktor!
Maksim To The Maximum
We spent the whole day on location in Detroit – first stop Belle Isle!
Max is looking good with Detroit as the backdrop! That’s the GM Headquarters AKA the Renaissance Center in the distance!
After some time on Belle Isle we headed over to Eastern Market to find a couple of murals and we also fired up some behind the scenes on Facebook Live – take a look!
And here’s one of the results:
So cool!
Next stop back downtown to the Belt alleyway for a pic of Maksim and “MOM” hehe…
At this point we had one more stop to make and that was West Riverfront Park where we had the Ambassador Bridge as a backdrop and here is the behind the scenes action from there that we streamed on Instagram:
Such a cool spot, BUT – we’re going to sign off with a photo from there of Maksim to the Maximum – up close and personal:
Nailed it!
And there you have it – it was Maksim to the Maximum indeed and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day which actually ended with pizza at Pie Sci – YUM! What an awesome time we had all around and the results prove it!
