Ben’s Senior Session In The Big D Was Totally Bomb!

Ben’s senior session in the big D was totally bomb indeed.  We are photographing seniors in Detroit more and more these days and Ben is a buddy of both of our kids – it’s kinda cool this year for us with some of our seniors because this is the class in between our 2 and Ben we’ve known for a while so it was a ton of fun.  Ben’s mom Erin is great too – she came along and we laughed a lot on this session!

Senior Session In The Big D…

We started on Belle Isle which is pretty typical for us when we head down to Detroit and we’ll pick up the action there with the fountain in the background:

At this point we headed over to The Belt alley to get a few more shots and we have some behind the scenes fun from the replay of our Facebook Live broadcast:

We then made another stop over by the Eastern Market to one of our favorite empty buildings for a little urban decay vibe (even though Detroit is very much “un-decaying” and coming back strong these days).

A Fabulous Family Of Three – And They Are Soon To Be Four!

It’s a joy to see a family in the process of growing right before your eyes when they are expecting and this fabulous family of three is about to become FOUR!  So we met them in a park to get some awesome location portraits of this version of the crew and we had a blast.

Sami’s Sublime Senior Session Was One To Remember!

Sami’s sublime senior session was one to remember, and why wouldn’t it be?  We already photographed Sami before as a spokesmodel representing the class of 2018 and that session was fab so we already knew we could look forward to another awesome outing!  This time we went to the E.L. Johsnon Nature Center in Bloomfield Hills and our conditions were perfect!  Sami’s mom Lisa and her boyfriend Greg joined to be Sami’s cheering section too!  Great lighting, great senior and plenty of natural beauty all around…. much to enjoy so let’s get to it!

Oh Olivia We Love Ya And Your Senior Pictures Are Fantastic!

Oh Olivia we love ya!!!  We have loved this senior pretty much since we met her – she’s cool, smart, athletic, nice, pretty on the inside and out – the whole package!  You may remember that she kicked off the spokesmodel sessions for the class of 2018 with some shots that have already solidified themselves as iconic shots in Frameable Faces lore!

So needless to say we were excited to get her in front of Ally’s camera again this time outside in a gorgeous setting and the results are stunning as we knew they would be!  Since we were exclusively in the studio the first time around we went totally on location this time joined by Olivia’s awesome mom Liz, and……wow!

Twin Seniors Part 2! This Time It’s Shoshie Fo Sho!

As promised we present Part 2 of yesterday’s Twin Senior highlights!!!  Yesterday the focus was on Hallie, and today it’s Shoshie FO SHO!!!  Haha!  Loving the results from the day we spent with these two and their mom Caryn – we laughed a lot that day and the girls were rock stars!

The focus for both girls was the summer style portraits on location in a natural setting so today will be more of the same awesomeness, and we’ll start with this one on the edge of the Quarton Lake dock in Birmingham:

Twin Seniors! First Up Let’s Say Hello To Hallie, Shall We?

Twin seniors are a delight to photograph for lots of reasons.  One example off the top is for starters there is usually no problem with getting comfortable being in front of the camera because they have each other to laugh with and take the edge off.  Now to be clear it’s not that there’s usually a problem with that – we have a consultation ahead of time to meet our seniors, get to know them, and design the session around them and their style, but with twins there’s that added connection between them which usually makes for much fun.  Now, throw in the fact that we already know Hallie and Shoshie (they are friends of our Lacey) and that they’re smart, hilarious and adorable and we’ve got a winner of a day!  We’ll call this part 1 and focus on Hallie first, and then we’ll give Shoshie her own blog post – in alphabetical order (plus Hallie is older) – ha!  But we’ll be sure to sneak in a twin shot too…

We focused exclusively on location for the girls in Birmingham, and their mom Caryn came along.  We had lots of laughs, good conditions outside and the girls did a fine job!  Let’s take a look at Hallie who was game to jump right in if you see what I mean…  lol! Hallie

One nice aspect of summer sessions at Quarton Lake is that there’s plenty of wild flowers to be found and they make for a gorgeous shot like this one of Hallie:

Seth Showed All Sides (and there are many) On His Senior Session!

Seth showed all of his sides in this session and yes there are many!  He’s a genuinely nice kid and he’s talented as can be!  Guitar, tennis, golf – we actually couldn’t fit all of his interests and activities into this blog post – lol!  But we got a few of them and we think you’ll agree that they made for some pretty awesome images.

We started on location at Seth’s house where we had close access to a golf course as well as his car which made an appearance as well!  Seth’s mom Tammy joined us and we had plenty of fun.  We started out on the golf course for this photo bright and early!

Sammy The Future Chef Had A Scrumptious Soirée For His Bar Mitzvah!

Sammy is a future chef in the making – the dude can create some serious culinary concoctions and he knows quality when he tastes it so you know if he has any say at all in the menu at his bar mitzvah that it’s gonna be gooooooood – a scrumptious soirée!  And in this case the food didn’t disappoint!  We know because we were there – as guests, because Sammy is our nephew!  Ally did indeed take a few photos at the weekday service at Adat Shalom Synagogue which we’ll share here, but the bulk of these highlights come from the event and is the work of our fantastic event photographer Angela!  Let’s start with a few photos from the small chapel earlier in the week at shul.
 

What a legacy…

Sammy’s great grandfather was the cantor at Adat Shalom for many years so it was very special for Sammy to carry on that tradition as the first of his generation within that family to become a Bar Mitzvah.  Here are a few highlights as Sammy leads the service and does the name proud:

The party was held at the Royal Oak Farmer’s Market – a great wide open space for a bash!  The food was off the charts with Asian, Mexican, and Israeli stations for food and everyone had a blast – I know we did!  Sammy had a ton of fun on his big day for sure.

Shaista Brings Back The Whole Crew and They’re Growing UP!!!

We get excited when Shaista brings back the whole crew!  We started photographing her kids shortly after we opened our studio space here in the Orchard Mall and they are just an awesome family – great kids and much fun to have around.  The wrinkle this time was that Shaista brought her husband Shabbir to get the whole family in the photos!  There’s a little story here – we’ve known Shaista and the kids for years but we never met Shabbir before so the running joke was that he wasn’t real – that we didn’t believe he existed.  Haha!  Well we can now say he does indeed exist and he’s as delightful as we would have expected.  I joked with him that we thought he was a phantom and he replied “Hey I was out working hard for these guys!”  Now that’s a good guy.  So without further adieu let’s take a look at some sneak peeks of this fabulous session!
