Caitlin (and Patrick) On A Perfect October Day For Senior Photos!

So this is indeed the story of Caitlin’s senior session which took place on a perfect October day in Birmingham, Michigan!  But Patrick was a welcome addition and companion and he helped make the session even more fun!  Patrick is a girl’s best friend – a young Collie with plenty of energy, and he posed quite nicely for a couple of shots!

Meanwhile we enjoy Caitlin a lot and her mom Deborah is a delight too!  We had plenty of fun and laughs on this bright sunny and warm day!  Actually the warm weather lasted much longer than usual this year and that made for more days like this deeper into senior season than you can usually expect…  Besides, Caitlin’s session was almost all on location so we got to enjoy a beautiful day.

Caitlin (and Patrick)…

Let’s start with the girl and her pup:

Perfect October Day

So fun!!!

Here’s the replay of the live Periscope broadcast from this part of the session.  If you want to be a part of our broadcasts in the future you can download the app and follow us at @FrameableFaces here, or you can just watch from Twitter!

Next we moved over to a couple of our fave spots to focus on the girl with the awesome red hair for the rest of the session…

Perfect October Day

Perfect October Day

Ooooh that backlight though!

We went live for another Periscope broadcast while we were at it too…

….and time for another outfit change!

Perfect October Day

We took to Facebook Live as well for some more behind the scenes fun as we moved into downtown Birmingham – check it out!

We’ll leave you with this last photo from the city…  love the lamp post shot!

Perfect October Day

And there you have it – a perfect October day with a fantastic girl!  We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!

Move Over Kerri Walsh Jennings – Here Comes Kayla and She’s On Fire!

Okay so maybe Kerri Walsh Jennings doesn’t have to “move over” per se….  After all she may be the greatest beach volleyball player of all time, but we don’t know Kerri Walsh Jennings personally and Kayla is a volleyball player we do know!  So with all due respect to Kerri, here comes Kayla and we are choosing to focus on her!  We spent a morning with her and her mom Dawn recently for senior pictures and it was a truly memorable experience!  And yes, this girl was “on fire” – but we’ll get to that in a little bit…  haha!

Here Comes Kayla…

With Kayla we had a game plan that included some studio work and some on location shooting in Birmingham.  We started on location as we tend to do for morning sessions when the sun is lower in the sky, and the conditions were perfect!

Here comes Kayla

Love it!

Let’s break for a little behind the scenes fun from the shoot shall we?  Let’s switch it up from the usual and start with a replay from the live Periscope broadcast from Quarton Lake!  If you want to be a part of our live broadcasts by joining and chatting live follow us at @frameablefaces here, or just watch us on twitter here.

Here’s one more photo on location for you before we head back to the studio:

Here comes Kayla

How about that backlight on her hair?  Gorgeous!

Now here’s our looping Vine that sums up the day in 6 seconds….

Next we’ll focus on the studio photos which you saw a glimpse of in the vine…

We focused mostly on the black background – love this one….

Here comes Kayla

And now here is the studio Periscope replay…

And as an added bonus we even did a little live video on Facebook!

Now it’s time to get to the coup de grace!  Remember when we said Kayla was “on fire”?  Remember when we told Kerri Walsh Jennings to move over?  This is the shot we were talking about….  Kayla rocking the Falcon gear with a fiery volleyball!

Here comes Kayla

Love that!  And there you have it!  Kayla had a fabulous session and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our morning with her!!!

Emily Embraces Her Inner Awesome On Her Senior Session!

It is time to share a spectacular senior session where Emily embraces her inner (and outer) awesome!  The younger sister of one of our former seniors Alayna, we were excited to get the call that she was coming to the studio!  Emily recently returned from Oregon for her senior year and her mom Krista, Alayna, and her BFF all came along – we’ll call them “Emily’s Entourage” haha!  Meanwhile what a great girl – and that’s why I chose “inner awesome” just because we really like these girls – just nice sweet people!  Our conditions for a location session in Birmingham were exceptional and the session followed suit!  So let’s get to the photos!

Emily Embraces Her Inner Awesome…

It’s the inner awesome that allows the true beauty to come out and be captured by Ally’s camera and you will see plenty of that starting with this first photo of Emily by Quarton Lake!

Emily Embraces

Great coordinated wardrobe too – those boots!

Next let’s take a look at some of the behind the scenes fun from the shoot!  First we have our 6 second looping Vine where you’ll see us grabbing the yearbook headshot before heading outside…

Next we have the replays of the live Periscope broadcasts from the day!  If you haven’t downloaded Periscope yet you can do so here and be a part of our broadcasts or you can watch them on twitter here.  Either way you can find us at @FrameableFaces!

And here is part two!

Okay now let’s get back to a few more of what we’re here for – the photos!

Emily Embraces

Love the close up!  Now for one in the water – these are always fun!

Emily Embraces

We’ll leave you with this next one which is uniquely Emily’s – we had another double tree like this one that we had used several times at this park, but this one works even better than the other one!  The blue top really makes Emily’s eyes pop here too!

Emily Embraces

And there you have it!  Emily embraced her inner awesome that day indeed and we hope you enjoyed the highlights from our day!

MAXing Out Some Senior Pictures In A MAXimum Way – With Max!

Max is a legacy here at Frameable Faces – the third and final senior sibling from this fam and thus, the end of an era…  But nothing to be sad about!  Senior pictures always represent new horizons and exciting futures and that’s what we’re celebrating here!  We love Max’s mom Stacey and she joined us on this location session for Max where we did some “MAXing out” for sure.  And hey we had some fun along the way!

MAXing Out…

This session was relatively short and sweet but we got a lot accomplished without traveling too far – the West Bloomfield library to be exact where there are some really nice trails and a little brick to use over by city hall as well.  The conditions were perfect and so off we go with the highlights!

Maxing

As you can see we started out with a little brick and sidewalk for this chill shot.  Max is lookin’ good!

Next we headed over to the trails to get some more natural settings, starting with Max on the park bench with the hoodie…  dig it.

Maxing

Before we get to the next couple of images let’s take a look at some of the behind the scenes – you know how we do it…  First with our 6 second looping Vine:

Next we have the replay of our live Periscope broadcast from the session for your extended viewing.  If you haven’t followed us on Periscope yet you can download the app and tune in at this link, or you can also catch the broadcasts live right on twitter!

Okay now back to the photos for one more outfit change for our guy…

Maxing

And we’ll finish it with a close up!

Maxing

Awesome!  We were definitely MAXing out and we had fun doing it!  We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day!

Doug’s Amateur 2017 Spokesmodel Panoramas!

I am NOT a professional photographer.  Let’s get that straight – and I will not be any time soon.  I have always loved photography, always had a camera and have always had a nice amateur eye.  So being in the photography business with my amazing professional photographer wife Ally has given me a chance to be involved in it, and to play around with the behind the scenes photos when I’m creating content to promote what we do.

iPhoneography…

Meanwhile the cameras on iPhones and smartphones in general have become better and better – the quality is quite amazing for everyday amateur use and the tools and filters let you have a lot of fun.  We’ve always said that the more people appreciate everyday photography the more they will appreciate professional photography, and we embrace the technology and use it to highlight the photos we take for our clients.

To that end I’ve become fond of the Panorama option on the iPhone, and I made sure to grab a pano of each spokesmodel session for the class of 2017.  I thought maybe these could make a fun blog post and so here we go…..!  These are unfiltered by the way with the exception of Ally brightening one or two of them.

2017 Spokesmodel Panoramas!

Lily

With Lily we went to Heritage Park in Farmington Hills and I got Ally here in action with Lily under this pretty trellis.

Haven rocked it in the studio on this purple background with the light wood floor – I got up high for this angle…

Aria and Maya go back to back in downtown Detroit with the awesome murals of “The Belt“.

Kinda neat huh?  We hope you enjoyed these class of 2017 spokesmodel panoramas!  Let us know what you think!

Snow Or No, Doesn’t Matter – Nadia Is A Natural!

Nadia is a natural – a beautiful photogenic, athletic, softspoken and all around nice girl.  We had a lot of fun with her and her mom Thyawana over a long period of time which is kind of nice.  Not a typical session because we broke this one up into multiple seasons, but it’s nice to put together a session that is out of the box once in a while especially when snow is involved!!!  Every year a few seniors want the snow and we’ve had some amazing snowy sessions – this was one of them.

Nadia’s fall photos….

But before we get to our winter wonderland we got together on a cloudy day last fall for a few photos over at Nadia’s high school Birmingham Groves for some really nice shots on the field and in front of the school – they had this all planned out for what they wanted and the results are awesome.  Here’s a representative photo from that day of Nadia in her letter jacket on the school sign that we think is so much fun!

NadiaNow before we switch seasons, let’s take a look at some of our fun behind the scenes action from the session(s)!  Let’s start with our six second vine for your looping pleasure:

Next we have the replay of the live Periscope broadcasts from both of those days – the first broadcast has comments and the second does not but they’re still both fun!  If you haven’t downloaded Periscope yet you NEED to – you can do so and follow us at @frameablefaces at this link.

To The Snow…

We reconvened on the West Bloomfield Trail in a snowstorm for these amazing photos.  Huge fluffy flakes that at one point were so thick they actually posed a challenge for Ally to find Nadia through the flakes!  Here is a prime example:

Nadia

Incredible!  Nadia is just stunning too…

This is one of our favorite snow photos which several of our seniors have rocked over the years:

Nadia

Let’s leave you with one more with this fabulous full length photo of Nadia….

Nadia

So there you go!  Nadia was definitely a natural and the different seasons made our time with her quite memorable!  We hope you enjoyed the highlights!

The Thrill Of The Chase…The Sequel – His Senior Portraits!

Chase has been one of our spokesmodels for the soon-to-be graduating class of 2016 and you may remember his spokesmodel session on this blog.  Chase has a lot going on as we’ve said before with his business with a couple of buddies PWR Detroit, and he’s heading to Indiana University in the fall!  Meanwhile with some scheduling and weather issues for his scheduled senior session we ended up breaking up this session into two different days for the studio half and the location half.  No worries – just more days to hang out with this guy….

Chase In The Studio…

Let’s start with the studio session which was first where we kept it pretty clean and simple.  Here we will highlight a couple photos against the white background….

Chase Note the PWR Detroit bracelet….  🙂

Just relaxed casual looks here – dig it.

Chase

Now let’s take a look at some behind the scenes footage from our day(s).  First with our 6 second looping vine

Next we have the replays of the live Periscope broadcasts from the two days from our YouTube channel.  If you haven’t downloaded Periscope yet you can do so and follow us at @frameablefaces here!

First the studio part…

And now the location part!

To Birmingham…

We reconvened on another day to head out to Birmingham for the location part of the portraits and we’ll share a couple of those highlights here:

Chase

That one was pretty cool because we weren’t expecting to show up and find a fresh coat of paint a completely different color than that wall used to be!  Very cool…  Okay one more:

Chase

And there you have it!  The thrill of the Chase – the sequel!  We’ve enjoyed having Chase represent the studio this year and we hope you’ve enjoyed the highlights from our time with him!

Maya Mia! Maya Is A Fabulous Spokesmodel!

Maya Mia!  See what we did there?  Another fabulous spokesmodel and especially one that is keeping the developing tradition of amazing seniors from Birmingham Groves!  We love all of our seniors from all of the schools (obviously our North Farmington Raiders for example since we are Raiders ourselves) but it is worth mentioning the love we have for our Groves peeps as a whole – there’s just something about those Falcons!  Maya is our latest Falcon and you’ve already seen Maya a couple times on the blog since we posted a behind the scenes fisheye shot from her double spokesmodel session with Aria and she already appeared in the broadcasts that we posted with Aria’s highlights.  We will post those broadcast replays again here for those who have landed here for the first time.  But first let’s look at a couple photos of Miss Maya shall we?

Maya Mia!

We started out in the studio with the blue/grey fabric backdrop before we headed downtown to Detroit – here’s one of those:

Maya Mia

Love the color coordination here and Maya looks gorgeous!

We also have to say that Maya is a total character once you get to know her a little – she definitely had us cracking up.  Her mom Julie is pretty awesome too…  To prove we’re not kidding here’s a little example of “spokesmodel parkour” with Maya – hilarious….

Maya Mia

“Spokesmodel Parkour” lol

As you may have seen on Aria’s post we didn’t spend a ton of time in the studio and at this point we headed down to Detroit.  For Maya’s highlights we are going to focus on the Belt Alleyway – such a cool spot!  There is a lot to work with there starting with this little alleyway within the alleyway!

Maya Mia

So cool.

Now let’s get to our fun behind the scenes action – first with our 6 second Vine for your looping pleasure!

Next we have the “encore” presentations of our Periscope broadcasts from our Katch.me page.  You can download the Periscope app and follow us so you can come along for the ride on future photo sessions and lots of other fun stuff at @frameablefaces at this link!  First the broadcast from the studio:

Next we have the broadcast from the Detroit location!

Now let’s get to a couple more photos of our wonderful spokesmodel!

Maya Mia

Those eyes!!!

Okay we’ll leave you with this last one with one of the cool murals that are all over the place down there…

Maya Mia

Maya Mia!  Right?  Beautiful girl!  Okay so there you have it!  We are pretty excited to have Maya representing our studio as we keep rolling right along gearing up for the class of 2017 season!

We Are Lovin’ A Little Bit Of Lauren’s Senior Portraits!

A little bit of Lauren is all we need to show you to see how great she is.  She’s nice and she’s pretty and that’s what her session was – just nice and pretty in the studio.  We’ve always maintained that while the majority of our sessions are a combo of location and studio, we also love the sessions that are just one or the other!  Studio sessions are just chilled and relaxed and Lauren was here with her mom Dawn for hers.  We had fun!

A Little Bit Of Lauren

So let’s get to a few highlights of our time here at Frameable Faces with this girl…  We’ll start off on the black background with a nice and simple photo with a closer crop.  Meet Lauren!

A Little Bit

Next we turned on the fan for our “black and blowy” shot that we love and it was perfect for Lauren – take a look:

A Little Bit

LOVE that photo!

Okay before we switch it up let’s take a look at our fun behind the scenes footage of our time with Lauren.  First with our 6 second looping vine:

Next we have the extended replay of our Periscope broadcast from our YouTube channel.  If you haven’t downloaded Periscope yet for your smartphone or tablet you are truly missing out and you can get it and follow us at @frameablefaces at this link.

Now let’s get back to a couple more photos as we change it up first to the grey backdrop with another closeup:

A Little Bit

And now we will leave you with a photo of Lauren on our red Victorian style couch with the red paper backdrop and the wooden flooring that turned out really well!

A Little Bit

And there you have it!  A little bit of Lauren for you which we are lovin’!  We hope you enjoyed the highlights from her session!

Ian Impressed On His Senior Photo Session!

Ian impressed us indeed on his senior session.  He took time out of a busy schedule of training camp before his football season started to join us and his mom for a few hours for a photo shoot, and we had a really good time.  Not all guys really know what to expect with a three hour photo shoot and football players who are serious are pretty focused on the season in late August – I know that as well as anybody.  Nevertheless he was totally prepared with some great outfit changes, we had a really good game plan, and we had awesome conditions!

Frameable Legacies Are Fun

Meanwhile Ian was the third member of his family to be photographed here including his sister Zoe whose likeness hangs in our window on a huge canvas, and his mom for a professional / fitness headshot, so we were excited to get young Ian in here.  We started on location at a local barn:

Ian Impressed

A fine looking young lad!

We spent all of our time on location at the Shulak Farm since there is plenty to work with there…

Ian Impressed

Just casual… having fun!

Speaking of fun let’s take a look at some behind the scenes fun from our morning!  First with our vine:

And second for an extended view here is the replay of our Periscope broadcast with Ian’s mom Rebecca “guest hosting” for part of it!  Be sure to download the app and follow us there (and just about everywhere else) at @frameablefaces!  You can also watch our replays at our Katch page!

Ian Impressed

Let’s get back to a couple more photos shall we as Ian continued to impress with another locale and back at the studio as well…  First outside:

Ian Impressed

And then back at the studio:

Ian Impressed

We think you’ll agree that Ian impressed on this session right?  We’re certainly impressed with him and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day!
