We’ve been making the rounds to the college campuses around the state for grad pictures and this time we bring you highlights from a couple of Wolverines in Ann Arbor! These two M grads were both delightful and we enjoyed our time with each! Let’s start with Dave!
A Little Greek with Dave
Dave is a sweetheart of a dude. We really enjoyed our time with him and he was a trooper because it was not warm…. but he’s going to be a teacher and he’s the perfect guy for it. You would love to have this guy teaching your kid. We hit the law quad first for this fantastic pic:
Next stop we went by Dave’s fraternity house for this one in front before we parted ways!
Love it!
Alexandra’s Art
Alexandra is an incredible artist. Like really incredible – and her work was on display at the Stamps School of Art and Design – what a delight she is! Take a look at this photo of her in front of this amazing piece!
We were treated to Alexandra taking us through her art in a livestream and you HAVE to check out her website at www.alexandracollinsart.com!
And here is one more in front of the Stamps building!
Love that backlight! She’s adorable.
And there you have it! A couple of extremely accomplished Wolverines and we loved our time with both M Grads!

We love Ann Arbor and we love the opportunity (and the excuse) to hang out up there anytime – especially to photograph a delightful family like this one with two Wolverine boys! A great day for Going Blue! Let’s get to a few highlights:
Going Blue in Ann Arbor
We actually started out with the family in traditional dress which always makes for some beautiful colors in a great family portrait:
Classic!!!
The crew changed outfits for the next few and here’s where the “Going Blue” doesn’t just mean the blue in Michigan’s maize and blue, but this coordinated look in the various blues for all 4 of them – we love this:
We also have some fun behind the scenes from Facebook:
Here’s one at a different spot on campus of the adorable couple…
And we wrapped it up at the Big House – Michigan Stadium! Here’s one of the bros:
Hail to the Sinhas!
What a fantastic day – we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our photos of this family!

As we mentioned in our last post we spent plenty of time on campus this spring – in East Lansing and Ann Arbor and now it’s time to highlight the Wolverines we photographed from the Class of 2023!!! These sessions are a blast – whether it’s in the Big House or popping champagne at the law quad we are always happy to be a part of these great moments for these college grads. GO BLUE and let’s get to it!
Go BLUE and Go Wolverine Grads!
We’ve got several groups to share some highlights of – we’ll start with this crew at the law quad!
And we have some fun behind the scenes too from Facebook!
Here’s one of Mikaela solo whom we’ve known forever….
Last but not least come the dudes at the Big House!!! This was a blast – even with a major rain delay which “forced” us into the locker room for a few pics, and a shout out to our uber talented photographer friend Susan Adams for the collab on this one – we’ve worked with her a bunch of times and she’s awesome.
Go Blue guys!
Here’s some behind the scenes from the Big House:
Here’s a group shot from the locker room:
When the weather cleared up we finished up on the field…
Here’s the TikTok highlights including this TEAM taking the field from the tunnel!
We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our sessions in A2 with these Wolverines! Looking forward to doing it again next year! GO BLUE!

Kendall gives us a kaleidoscope of feels which pretty much means that we really like her. Okay it goes beyond that – we have history with her family going back over 30 years now and we detailed some of that in the blog post for her spokesmodel session back in June! Kendall has been our first spokesmodel representing Ann Arbor Skyline High School and we really enjoy having her in front of Ally’s camera!!! We actually broke this one up into two different days to fit it into our schedules – Kendall and Sarah wanted some studio pics but we also love any excuse to head up to Ann Arbor so we did both! Let’s get to the highlights:
Kickin’ It With Kendall
The first day we were in the studio and here we have Kendall on the red Victorian couch on the black backdrop!
Here’s the fun behind the scenes from that photo from our Facebook Livestream!
For the second day as mentioned before we made the trek up to Ann Arbor to hang with Kendall, her mom Sarah, and her little sis Harper! We had a perfect day:
Gorgeous – back at the law quad at U of M where Kendall will be attending and playing volleyball next year!
Meanwhile there was a wall that caught our eye on a recent trip to Ann Arbor and we decided to use it for a few photos – it looks GREAT and here’s the fun behind the scenes from Instagram:
And the result:
Love that red!
We’ll leave you with one more from a park we never knew existed – so cool:
And there you have it – Kendall gave us all the feels – a kaleidoscope of them if you will! Ha! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day(s) with her!

Kendall kills it – in more ways than one! For starters she’s an accomplished volleyball player, so kills in volleyball are important – a kill is an attack that results in an immediate point or side out, and so we attacked this spokesmodel session with gusto! And yes, she killed it. Kendall will be playing volleyball at Michigan and Michigan is our shared connection. You see, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree as Kendall’s dad Vada (may he rest in peace) was my friend and teammate on the football team at Michigan so having Kendall in the fold representing our studio as the first spokesmodel we’ve ever had at Ann Arbor Skyline High School is really special for us.
Kendall Kills It
We met Kendall and her mom Sarah (who Ally knew from a previous life in finance before Ally and I and Sarah and Vada got together which is pretty cool) up in Ann Arbor on a perfect Saturday for the session but actually two nights before that they came to the studio for our spokesmodel party where we did a few studio pics so let’s start with one of those:
Love the simple white backdrop with the simple white tank… Kendall looks fantastic!
To Ann Arbor…
Now let’s visit a few of the Ann Arbor images a couple days later where as I said before we had a perfect day! As a side note this is very typical for our senior sessions where we take some photos in the studio as well as on location. We started in the Arb where the peonies were in full bloom so it was actually pretty crowded. So we took a few photos by the flowers but shortly after we found a great spot on one of the trails:
I’m guessing we’ll be using that spot again…
We also have some fun behind the scenes from the day – first from the replay of the livestream we did on Instagram:
We also headed over to the law quad on campus which is really a beautiful setting and we used a couple different spots – here’s Kendall under one of the archway entrances to the courtyard:
And here’s the behind the scenes action on that photo from Facebook Live!
At this point we left the campus to get some photos at a couple of parks and while we usually include 4 photos in these posts we’re including an extra here since Kendall’s session is the last of our Class of 2020 spokesmodels, our first from Ann Arbor Skyline, and – well…..there were just too many good ones not to share an extra!
Love that bridge and how Kendall’s tank top pops right off of it while still almost matching it…
And we’ll leave you with this one, which might very well be our favorite of the day:
What a classic photo!!!! Classic beauty!
And there you have it – Kendall kills it indeed! We loved our day with them and we can’t wait to get Kendall in front of Ally’s camera again. For those of you who have been following along we hope you’ve enjoyed our class of 2020 crew and we can’t wait to start photographing the sessions for the upcoming seniors!!!

For Ethan’s session we decided to get a little academic you could say, and Ethan got an education out of it…..in senior pictures! We headed up to the University of Michigan to get some photos around campus and both of Ethan’s parents Stacy and Paul joined us. We love spending time in Ann Arbor and it’s really picturesque so it made for a great setting! Let’s get to the highlights!
Ethan Gets An Education
Ethan started with a formal look and he’s looking ready for college here!
What a stud.
We also have some fun behind the scenes first from our Instagram LIVE:
At this point Ethan changed to a slightly more casual look for a couple more photos around campus:
Ivy covered walls are cool.
Here we are with the law quad as a backdrop framing our guy:
At this point we headed to the Arb for a more natural setting and we fired up the Facebook Live for some more behind the scenes action:
And we’ll leave you with one more in the natural setting:
So cool! Ethan got his education in senior pictures alright and he passed with flying colors! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with him!

Yes there is plenty of evidence of Emily being exceptional – not just on her senior session in case the title is misleading, because we’ve known this for a while. Really since the first time we met her and throughout her time representing the studio as a spokesmodel for the class of 2018! Plus she’s a North Farmington Raider which always helps, but she’s no ordinary Raider, she’s an accomplished musician and student athlete! She’s a total character as well so really she’s the whole package and we are huge fans!
Emily Being Exceptional
With Emily we traveled to Ann Arbor and spent the morning photographing on and around the U of M campus which obviously has lots of great spots, and her mom Jen joined – we always have a great time together with them! We’ll start with this one:
Stunningly beautiful!
Now there’s a little story with that one… we had a bit of an emergency situation with a big fat bumblebee who was hanging around in the flowers that decided to hitch a ride in Emily’s beautiful long hair and come along in the car…. let’s just say Emily was a little startled when she discovered Mr. Bumblebee. Holy moly…. haha! But Emily’s a trooper and she survived! Lol…
Meanwhile we do have some behind the scenes from our day – not of the bee but of the bee-yoo-tee. See what I did there? First with the replay of our Facebook Live broadcast:
Here are a couple more where we explored and took advantage of textures and architecture on campus:
Framed nicely with the full length shot!
Here’s some more behind the scenes fun from the YouTube Live replay:
And now with the close up…
Emily being exceptional indeed!
At this point after a delicious vegan lunch at The Lunch Room where our Lacey met up with us as well we headed back to the studio in West Bloomfield to get a couple more photos including some focus on volleyball – and this next photo is LIT…. We usually play with fire on the black backdrop but this one on the grey is just awesome…
A great one to finish on! So as you can see there was plenty of evidence of Emily being exceptional and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!

This post is just a fun quick one about our day at the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair! As photographers we appreciate all things visual, as admirers of art we appreciate all things creative whether visual or otherwise sensory in other ways, and as Frameable Faces we celebrate living a life you would want to celebrate – one you would want to remember and capture. We think strolling through an art fair fits into what we do here in plenty of ways!
The 2017 Ann Arbor Street Art Fair!
Meanwhile I felt a blog post would be a good place to post our snapchat story from the day and include the links to the websites of our favorite artists from the day and have them in one spot. For starters you should get to the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair one July if you’ve never been – it’s a 4 day event that takes over a good part of the University of Michigan campus and parts of downtown (which is adjacent to campus). For those of you who may not know, the University of Michigan colors are maize and blue – hence the “a-maize-ing” title!
At this point I think we’ll let the snapchat story do the talking for a couple minutes…
Some cool stuff right? And how funny was that squirrel? And we had to throw in the spot where Ally and I bumped into each other once in Ann Arbor during our college years in front of Ulrich’s….
So let’s break it down a little and talk about the artists we focused on in the story above:
First we have the sculptural weaving of Gloria McRoberts from Watertown, TN whose fiber sculptures are hand woven from natural, undyed wool. We were really drawn to her booth and these awesome pieces. You can visit her website here.
Next we came across these amazing sketchings on skateboards done by simple pen or pencil by Jeffrey St. Romain who is from New Orleans. My favorite was the one you see of Jimi Hendrix with the lyrics from Castles Made Of Sand. Here is his website.
Next you saw a piece from Erika Bushee and her Art Rocks Studio – stunning. The rocks jut out from the surface and in the case of the one I snapped above, continue right onto the floor. Really cool.
Last but not least the piece which kept people talking on Snapchat for 24 hours and on into our Periscope community was the amazing guitar tree by Demi Heitzman who is located not far from Toledo. Here is her website.
We also would like to call attention to an amazing underwater photographer we met (even though I did not get any of his work into the snapchat) named Chris Gug. Wow. Just wow. Check out his website here.
We’re also giving a shout out to our favorite new plant based restaurant in Ann Arbor – The Lunch Room! OMG – delish right down to the deserts (VEGAN DONUTS!!!). Check it out – here’s the website.
And there you have it! A GREAT day at the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair! We hope you enjoyed the highlights!

This month we decided it was time to go back to school! Because like, we really miss college. Okay well not exactly – we embarked on the 2017 Frameable Faces Campus Tour which was our third one! We did campus tours back in2013 and 2015 – not necessarily by design although the bi-annual approach may work going forward. We’ll see since they are pretty darn fun. You see we love our high school seniors and we miss them when they go away! They often visit when they come home but we like to head up to Ann Arbor and East Lansing once in a while to see them and feed them – college kids love food right? We get to reconnect with them and find out what’s going on in their lives and their parents get to see that they’re alive and well! Haha!
2017 Frameable Faces Campus Tour – First Stop, Michigan Wolverines! GO BLUE!
We started out at U of M and we met at the traditional campus tour spot Pizza House right in the middle of campus! We even got to Ann Arbor a little early and did a little snapchat story where we included a couple other stops on campus in addition to all the obligatory selfies with our Frameable Wolverines! Here’s the snap story:
We also grabbed a quick Facebook Live video while we were visiting with our friends…. 🙂
Lastly we walked around and gave our Periscope community a little tour of central campus and one of our seniors Becca made another random cameo – so fun!
Doug&AllyLet's take a stroll through the UofM campus! 〽️ #GoBlue 2017 Frameable Faces Campus Tour! https://t.co/z6pZxNLXQh
Here’s the Instagram collage we posted that summed it all up:
That wraps up our a-MAIZE-ing day at Michigan! One week later it was time to…
Sparty On! The 2017 Frameable Faces Campus Tour Rolls Into East Lansing!
Now we have to put a disclaimer on this… we thought heading up to MSU on MLK Day would be a good idea because the University was open but there were no classes. And that would have been a great plan. What wasn’t a great plan was not checking the weather, because had we done that we would been aware of the freezing rain that came down most of the day. Not kidding – we saw over twenty cars in the ditch on either side of I-96 on the way up to East Lansing. The weather put a slight damper on the plans – we didn’t get up there early enough to do a snap story around campus like we did in Ann Arbor and our turnout wasn’t as big. BUT – we didn’t let that stop us from having a great time anyway with a few of our faves! Here’s our Snap Story with our selfies, topopo salads & Insomnia cookies!
We also have a fun Facebook Live video from El Azteco…
Fun! And here’s our Instagram collage from MSU…
And that about sums up the tour! We had so much fun visiting with our former Frameables and it’s such a thrill to see them thriving and learning up at school! We wish we could get to all of the other schools too but time and logistics make it impossible! Suffice it to say this is how we feel about all of our former seniors!!! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of the 2017 Frameable Faces Campus Tour!

Every now and then you need to go back to school right? Well that’s just what we did with the Frameable Faces 2015 Campus Tour! This year’s tour included stops in Ann Arbor and East Lansing and we had a blast hanging out with some of our favorite former seniors! High School senior pictures are so fun for us and we get pretty close to many of our seniors so it’s really special for us to be able to visit them up at college!
First Stop – Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan Wolverines!!!
We made Ann Arbor our first stop where we met at Pizza House just like the 2013 tour, where we hung out, ate some yummy pizza and garlic bread. Nicole Davidson (Frameable Faces class of 2011), Jarred Bratley and Cheyenne Stone (FF class of 2012), and Mara Cranis and Alanah Bratley (FF class of 2014) all met us and we caught up for a while.
Afterwards it was time to get over to Insomnia Cookies for a little dessert – YUM!
All in all a great day! GO BLUE!
Next Stop – East Lansing and the Michigan State Spartans!!!
Our next stop was a dicey proposition because we planned it for a Sunday evening on the weekend of the Elite 8 and if the Spartans won on Friday they would be playing on Sunday – we just didn’t know when. As it turned out they won and were scheduled to play on Sunday at 2, so when we rolled into town for dinner at El Azteco, the campus was buzzing since the Spartans had just punched their ticket to the Final Four. Chelsea Cage (FF class of 2011) and Bri Dines (FF class of 2013) met us for a topopo salad feast – just like we did on the 2013 tour.
This time around we decided to change it up a bit for dessert though and go to the MSU Dairy Store for ice cream. They have flavors in honor of the different Big Ten schools, so I got a scoop of Maize-N-Berry on top of a scoop of Buckeye Blitz. Ha! Delish!
Always remember if you’re the one taking the group selfie to cut off half of your face like our daughter Lacey did above – it’s a thing… No really – it is.
One last point to make here – we are so proud of Nicole and Chelsea – the two seniors in the group. Nicole is graduating from U of M and is continuing on to med school, and Chelsea is graduating from MSU and has been hired by General Motors! So there it is – the 2015 Frameable Faces Campus Tour – one of our favorite things to do!
