Maybe We’re Amazed At Mia’s Senior Session!

Amazed is a good word for how we feel about Mia’s session.  Not because we’re surprised at how awesome it is, just because it’s that great.  Another legacy senior, Mia’s older sister Danielle was one of our seniors a couple years ago and Mia actually joined us on Danielle’s spokesmodel session so we knew Mia already and were excited when her mom called to schedule Mia’s session!

We would probably say that with younger siblings it’s about 50/50 on whether we go to the same spots and do the same kind of session for both or whether we do something completely different so they get their own style.  With Mia we went to the same spots in Birmingham as Danielle which we think is really cute, and we started out at Quarton Lake:

Amazed

Amazed indeed…

Right?  How gorgeous is that first shot?  We should also mention that Mia’s dad Howard joined us on this session and he’s hilarious.  Totally cool, the two of them have a great relationship and he was a welcome addition to the hangout.  Before we head to the city shots let’s take a look at some of the behind the scenes action.  First here’s our six second vine

She’s sooo cute!

We also broadcasted some of the session on Periscope and here is the replay from our YouTube channel!  You can download the app and follow us at @frameablefaces here.

To the city…

Now let’s look at our photos from downtown Birmingham which are…..yep – amazing!

Amazed

Love that “gritty” shot in the alley with the metal door!  Let’s look at a couple more in different outfits:

Amazed

The girl has style!  We’ll now leave you with this last photo in the city.  Love the colors here! Check it out…

Amazed

So there are your highlights!  You can see why we are amazed by this girl – she’s pretty awesome and so was her session!  We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day!

Alexis Astonishes With An “Ablazing” Senior Session!

Is “ablazing” a word?  Ablaze is, but technically “ablazing” isn’t, and guess what – we don’t care, because we think it describes Alexis’s session just fine.  It had fire and it was amazing, so……..ablazing!!!  Boom!

Alexis’s mom Lisa is frequently at our awesome little mall and she is a sweetheart so we weren’t surprised to find that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.  Alexis is a charming, soft spoken and beautiful young lady and her session was indeed astonishing, amazing, ablazing and well, whatever other positive adjectives beginning with “A” that you can think of (and maybe even some other letters too)!  So let’s get to some highlights shall we?

Alexis astonishes

We started in the studio with the black background with a nice simple pretty shot of Alexis:

Alexis astonishes

And the astonishing begins…!

Next it was time to turn up the heat and get the session ablazing with some fire!!!  Alexis is a lacrosse player and we love setting lacrosse sticks on fire…

Alexis astonishes

Fierce…

Let’s take a look now at some behind the scenes footage of our day – first with our fun 6 second vine:

Next here is the replay of our Periscope broadcast from our YouTube channel!  Be sure to download the app and follow us here!

On location…

Next it was time to head out to Quarton Lake and it was a beautiful day – actually it was Ally’s birthday and what a great way to spend part of it!  First let’s see the “across the lake shot” which is really pretty…

Alexis Astonishes

And lastly just a nice pretty simple close crop of Alexis that we’ll leave you with:

Alexis Astonishes

So there you have it!  Alexis and her “ablazing” session!  We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!

Ian Impressed On His Senior Photo Session!

Ian impressed us indeed on his senior session.  He took time out of a busy schedule of training camp before his football season started to join us and his mom for a few hours for a photo shoot, and we had a really good time.  Not all guys really know what to expect with a three hour photo shoot and football players who are serious are pretty focused on the season in late August – I know that as well as anybody.  Nevertheless he was totally prepared with some great outfit changes, we had a really good game plan, and we had awesome conditions!

Frameable Legacies Are Fun

Meanwhile Ian was the third member of his family to be photographed here including his sister Zoe whose likeness hangs in our window on a huge canvas, and his mom for a professional / fitness headshot, so we were excited to get young Ian in here.  We started on location at a local barn:

Ian Impressed

A fine looking young lad!

We spent all of our time on location at the Shulak Farm since there is plenty to work with there…

Ian Impressed

Just casual… having fun!

Speaking of fun let’s take a look at some behind the scenes fun from our morning!  First with our vine:

And second for an extended view here is the replay of our Periscope broadcast with Ian’s mom Rebecca “guest hosting” for part of it!  Be sure to download the app and follow us there (and just about everywhere else) at @frameablefaces!  You can also watch our replays at our Katch page!

Ian Impressed

Let’s get back to a couple more photos shall we as Ian continued to impress with another locale and back at the studio as well…  First outside:

Ian Impressed

And then back at the studio:

Ian Impressed

We think you’ll agree that Ian impressed on this session right?  We’re certainly impressed with him and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day!

Kalin Was Killin’ It On Her Senior Session!

Kalin killed it on her senior session.  I mean like….slayed it, rocked it, owned it – just think of any verb that’s good and she did it.  And she became one of our favorites from the very moment she walked in for her consultation!  I may say a lot of our seniors are our “favorites” but we just really love them and Kalin has been back to hang out and visit since her session.  We just really connected with her!  She’s personable and funny and we enjoy her a lot!!!

Kalin Was Killin’ It

This session ended up being broken up into two days due to a thunderstorm.  Kalin’s mom Chris came to the session on Thursday and her dad Doug (like that guy – he’s got a good name) met us on location on Saturday as well.  We had a blast!  Let’s take a look at the studio shots first:

Kalin

See what I mean?  Love that one in black and white…

Let’s bring in a little color to the proceedings with Kalin on our purple background:

Kalin

Fun!  Kalin is a sweetheart and it comes through in her smile, and the color of the dress looks great against the purple.

Now let’s take a look at some fun behind the scenes footage from the session before we head to our location.  First with the vine:

Next we have the replay of the live broadcast we did of part of the session on Periscope from our YouTube channel!  You can download Periscope here and follow us at @frameablefaces!  Be forewarned that there is a lot of photography talk with the audience for the studio part of the broadcast while Kalin was doing an outfit change and the connection was jumpy in spots, but it’s still fun.  The location portion of the replay starts at almost the 13 and a half minute mark where Kalin’s mom Chris takes over as guest host for a couple minutes!

Now let’s look at our location shots!  We had great conditions at Quarton Lake in Birmingham two days after our studio time and these two photos are sensational!  First relaxing on a bench…

Kalin

And we’ll leave you with this one amongst the trees…

Kalin

See what we mean?  She killed it which is just slang for she did an awesome job – ha!  We are so happy we met Kalin and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!

Magnificence, Merriment, and Mayhem With Mara!

Magnificence, merriment and mayhem was the order of the day with Mara on her senior session!  We’ve known Mara for a long time and used to be in a car pool with her and her mom Lisa, but we hadn’t talked to or even really seen Mara in years, so when this beautiful and quick witted young lady walked into the studio we were blown away!  Plus we had photographed her older sister Rebecca a few years back for her senior pictures and she’s one of our faves (you can see a photo of her here – she’s the one in the 10th photo), so anticipation was high.

Magnificence

So let’s get to the magnificence!  Mara is also just flat out funny which is where the merriment comes in.  We spent much of her session cracking up and you’ll get a little sense of that in a bit.  Meanwhile with the exception of the yearbook headshot we spent the entire time in Birmingham to get both urban and natural shots – let’s start downtown:

Magnificence

Great photo right?  Love this girl.  Let’s take a look at one more in the city:

Magnificence

Love it when a little breeze cooperates with us giving her hair a little lift!

Now let’s head over to Quarton Lake for this stunning photo…

Magnificence

Great breeze, great backlight – pure magnificence indeed!

Now let’s take a look at our fun behind the scenes vine of the day where more “merriment” and the “mayhem” began… There was a construction site with a big Caterpillar truck and a gentleman doing some work in the construction zone who was more than happy to create a little noise and dust for us – and I mean that sincerely – we asked him to!

Our new friend also let us play with the Caterpillar a little which yielded this fun photo that we’ll leave you with:

Magnificence

So fun!  So there you have it!  A little mayhem, a lot of merriment, and ALL magnificence with Mara!  We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day!

Our Senior Session With Jaclyn Was Quite A Journey!

Jaclyn’s senior session was quite a journey in more ways than one!  For starters, arriving at this day and this occasion was a journey in itself since we were there at the hospital after Jac was born.  Her dad Chris and I have been friends going back to 2nd grade and we grew up on the same street 5 houses down from each other.  So you could say Jaclyn is basically like a niece to us and that made for a surreal session to say the least.

Journey To Boyne

Meanwhile Chris’s parents moved to Boyne City when they retired so we made the trek up there to make a little up North visit out of it to photograph Jaclyn on location at Lake Charlevoix and around the area.  It’s beautiful up there!  We arrived around sundown and started right away to get a few shots down at the water including this awesome shot using a little off camera flash!

Journey

Love it!

That was the only set up we did that night.  Once it got dark we headed back up to the house to hang out and hit the sack.  The next morning we woke up bright and early to get all the rest of the shots we wanted – some in town and some out in the woods.  This session was epic.  Before we get to the rest of the photos though let’s take a look at our fun behind the scenes vine of our time with Jaclyn:

The Next Day

We got some nice variety the next morning and our weather was perfect.  Let’s start with this photo down at one of the marinas in town – and what do you know – we found these two posts that happened to be marked 2016 in honor of Jaclyn being a senior this year!  hehe…

Journey

Next it was off to some natural settings for these next two beautiful photos…

First in the meadow:

Journey

Wow!  Such a great setting with a little breeze and the woods in the distance…

We’ll leave you with one more of this unique and super cool shot up in a tree!

Journey

So there you have it!  What a journey.  A journey for us to travel up North for such an amazing location photo shoot, and a journey of 17 years for us from meeting Jaclyn in the hospital right after she was born to having this beautiful young lady in front of Ally’s camera.  It was a really special occasion for us and Jaclyn did an awesome job for these spectacular results.  We hope you enjoyed the highlights of the journey!

Four P’s Of Rachel – Purple, Pointe, Plants, Perfection!

Rachel is fast becoming a “Frameable Faces Legend” for several reasons…  First of all she was the first spokesmodel we brought on board for the class of 2016, so that’s a nice distinction in itself.  But she also has been a pioneer of sorts here with a chair AND now a wall named for her.  Anytime a senior tries something new for us it gets named for them, so Rachel will long be remembered here.  Plus she comes by and hangs out from time to time.  Suffice it to say we love this girl…

Four P’s Of Rachel

Rachel’s spokesmodel session was entirely indoors back in January so we were excited to get out on location for her senior session and for this session we covered “four P’s” which wasn’t by design per se, it just worked out that way.  And what a session!  Rachel’s mom Sue joined us and much fun was had.  So let’s get to our four p’s shall we?

Purple

We started out in the studio on the purple background which we have had a lot of fun with this year.  It’s a great color for this girl!

Rachel

Now before we get to the other P’s let’s look first at our fun behind the scenes vine of our day:

We also broadcast portions of the session live on Periscope in the studio and on location and the broadcasts were a lot of fun – here are both segments back to back in this YouTube video including the “bee incident” where Ally caught a bee in the frame right by Rachel’s face!  The bee incident happens at the 11 minute mark and we got a little chuckle out of that.  Download the app here and follow us at @frameablefaces!

Now let’s head out to the location portion of the session first with this stunning photo of Rachel leaning against a tree:

Rachel

Love that shot!

Pointe

The next photo comes from a series of Rachel with “Rachel’s chair” and it’s on pointe in more ways than one.  Another one of the P’s!

Rachel

Plants

This is Rachel’s wall – we didn’t know it existed – she found it ahead of her session and led us there.  It’s covered in vines so there are your plants!

Rachel

Perfection!

So there you have it – the fourth “P” is perfection which describes the whole day!  We had an awesome time photographing Rachel again and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of her session!

It’s Kyra’s Turn in the Senior Session Spotlight!

It’s Kyra’s turn in the senior session spotlight being our second senior from her family – Kyra’s older brother Brendan was a Frameable senior a couple years back (he can be seen as the 6th senior from the top leaning against the silo here) and we met Kyra then as the spunky younger sister!  We really liked her then, so we were excited when we got the call from their mom Karen that Kyra would be coming to the studio for her own senior photos!

Kyra’s Turn

Kyra was ready to deliver on this day!  We spent most of our time on location in Birmingham but we started in the studio so let’s start our highlights there on the black background shall we?

Kyra's Turn

Fantastic!!!

Next it was time to head to Birmingham where we focused on both the natural setting of Quarton Lake as well as some more cosmopolitan shots downtown… here are a few from downtown starting with this one of Kyra against the lamppost with a nice pop of color in the background:

Kyra's Turn

Kyra really did a great job all the way around – just very at ease and a natural in front of Ally’s camera.  Here’s our fun behind the scenes vine of our day:

We also have to add that not only was Kyra a natural in front of Ally’s camera, but she had a lot of fun with our audience on our live Periscope broadcast from the session.  Here is the replay of our almost 25 minute broadcast of a portion of the session which saw many of our favorite photographers from around the world including Toronto and the UK tune in and say hello!  Both Kyra and Karen had fun with this and feel free to watch the whole thing, fast forward through the photography talk while Kyra changed outfits, or whatever you like!  Be sure to download the app and follow us there at @frameablefaces!

Okay now let’s get back to a couple more photos from the session!  We have gotten a fair amount of use out of the fountain so far with this class, and why not?

Kyra's turn

Lastly here is a shot from the grey wall featured so prominently in our broadcast:

Kyra's turn

Great one to leave you with if we do say so ourselves.  Kyra is a star.

So there you have it – it was Kyra’s turn in the senior session spotlight as we said at the beginning and boy did she make the most of it!  We hope you enjoyed the highlights!

Swift: Krushing The Senior Picture Game With Kirsh Daddy

Swift.

That’s all you have to say.  It’s Kirsh Daddy time and that’s the word of the day.  It’s actually Zack’s favorite word and if you hang with him for a while you’ll find yourself saying it too.  It’s basically another word for “cool” or “sweet”, and Zack is both, as well as a total character, so we were looking forward to this session for sure.

Kirsh Daddy…

Why is Zack known as Kirsh Daddy?  It’s hard to explain but it just fits, and we decided to start off Krushing the senior picture game in downtown Birmingham for some city shots.  Let’s start it off with our first top of the parking structure shot of the season:

Swift

Swift right?  That shot wasn’t actually part of the plan with the specs – they are transition lenses so they darken up when exposed to the light but we actually love the way that one came out.  It’s pure Kirsh Daddy Kool.

Next let’s take a look at our fun behind the scenes vine of our morning where you’ll get a glimpse of the fiery awesomeness that followed…

While we were shooting we broadcasted parts of the session live on Periscope – if you haven’t downloaded the app yet you can do it here, and you can follow us at @frameablefaces!  Here is the replay from our YouTube channel!

Swift…

Let’s get back to a couple more photos of our guy showing his happier gentler side…

Swift

And one more before we head back to the studio:

Swift

Alright now it’s time to head back to the studio for the fire shot that you saw us doing in the vine and the broadcast replay!

Swift

So there it is – a swift session Krushing it with Kirsh Daddy!  We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our morning with him!

Taking Over The City On Zoe’s Senior Session!

Taking over the city with Zoe was the order of the day when we rolled into Pontiac for some killer urban photos on her senior session!  We love Pontiac and while it’s unfortunate that it’s pretty dirty and marked by considerable blight these days it does make for great urban photos – the grittier the better!

We loves us some Zoe

Meanwhile we were excited to photograph Zoe again since she is one of our spokesmodels for the class of 2016 and you may have already seen the highlights from her spokesmodel session here on the blog.  We had fun the first time around and Zoe and Ally were even wobbling at one point…  Zoe’s mom Elyse is a lot of fun too, and so off we went to Pontiac!

Taking Over The City…

You will probably recognize a few of these sites such as the abandoned Phoenix Center:

Taking Over The City

Love the framing of the angles, the lines, the growth – and the girl!

Love Zoe in this dress on this wall in the next photo – the pretty and the gritty!

Taking Over The City

Let’s take a look now at our fun behind the scenes vine of our day where you can hear Elyse serving as Zoe’s cheering section!  🙂

We also did a live Periscope broadcast which you can watch if you would like to see more of the session which was viewed by a live audience!  If you haven’t downloaded the app yet you need to here and then follow us at @frameablefaces!

Okay back to a couple more photos… like this one of Zoe “stopping traffic” haha!Taking Over The City

And lastly we’ll leave you with this one of Zoe against “Zoe’s post” since these posts are brand new…  Anytime a senior uses a new spot or prop on location it gets named for them!

Taking Over The City

So there it is – taking over the city with Zoe!  We certainly did that and then some with this awesome girl!  We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day!
