Atta Girl Abby! You Owned This Senior Session! We love it!

As you know we always look to come up with fun catchy titles for our blog posts and we don’t usually “talk to our seniors” in the title.  But we’re not sorry – we’re doing it because we think it’s fun – like Abby!  She’s got just a hint of snark (which we love) to go with her adorable which she also has plenty of.  We had a perfect day for her session and it wasn’t the first time she’s appeared on our blog – the first time was for her bat mitzvah just four short years ago!  Both of her parents came to the session which also made for a fun time – I (Doug) especially loved Adam trolling me about my lighting assistance for Ally pretty much the whole time.  Hehe….  In all seriousness we enjoy Adam and Lorie a lot and have actually known them for many years now going back to when our kids were in elementary school together.  So let’s get to Abby’s pics shall we?

So Abby is an athlete – a soccer player like her sister Elizabeth but while we did studio soccer pics with her sister, with Abby we took it to the field at WBHS and got some really cool stuff… like this one:

Livin La Lira Loca!!! A Fantastic Class Of 2021 Detroit Session!

Livin La Lira Loca just popped into my head for a title for this girl, and not much is left to be said about her that we haven’t already said before, and yet…….we may never run out of things to say about Lira!  This girl is a once in a lifetime girl – like for example on the way back from her Detroit session in the car she was on a zoom for strength trainers because she’s doing that to help out a local high school football team in her “spare time”. 
 
Right?
 
Just as a reminder / recap she’s a weightlifter, an elite track athlete, in the marching band, a dancer – there’s not much she can’t do and she just owns a room when she enters it.  She’s hi def at all times and we LOVE her!  We spent a(nother) memorable day with her in Detroit for her senior session and this is a fast turnaround between blog posts because she was one of the last Class of 2021 spokesmodels we photographed and the first Class of 2021 senior session as well!  We’ve been photographing Lira for a long long time – actually we think this is a highlight from the very first time right here…

It’s Time For The Class of 2021 Spokesmodel Panorama…..RAMA!!!

YES it’s time for the Class of 2021 Spokesmodel Panorama…..RAMA!!!  This is our fourth annual post like this, and while these are NOT professional photos, they are a fun behind the scenes way of representing what we’ve been up to with our new crew in panoramic style!  I took these (Doug – not Ally) with my iPhone XR and we love to stack ’em up and give them their own blog post!  This year has clearly been a strange one to say the least, and we have a smaller but still amazing crew representing the rising class of 2021!  The first couple we did before the lockdown and the next four we’ve completed since we reopened.  And what a great crew we have this year….

Rita Really Reached The Top On Her Senior Picture Session!

Rita really reached the top on a hot but perfect day in Birmingham for her senior pictures!  What a BEAUTY on every level.  Smart, adorable, personable, funny and nice – we fell for this girl immediately along with her mom Eva – we laughed so much!  Just felt like old friends, and Rita slayed the game.  Rita just graduated from Walled Lake Western in the class of 2020 which we know had a pretty weird end to their senior year, but we kicked it back up a notch with this session.  You’ll see what we mean if you keep scrolling!

Yay and Yahoo For Yanni and Her Class Of 2020 Senior Pictures!!!

Yay doesn’t begin to cut it – we needed to add “yahoo” (we almost added a “yippee”) for Yanni and her senior pictures!  Yanni’s mom Inger and I (Doug) go back to college days at Michigan where we hung out in some of the same circles and I was always a fan of Inger with her fun signature “Heyyy mannn!!!” greeting.  We reconnected a few years back through Facebook and we’ve been in regular touch again since.  Love when that happens!  Meanwhile Inger was living most recently in Texas, so when she called to say she had moved back to Michigan with her hubby and that her daughter Yanni needed senior pictures I was thrilled!  Ally & Inger had never met before and I knew they would love each other.  I was right!

As for Yanni, I had followed her high school career through Inger’s posts which is one of those great things about Facebook – to see your old friends kid’s accomplishments is something that just didn’t happen as easily before social media.  Like the rest of the class of 2020 Yanni’s year was upended by the pandemic, so for the seniors we are photographing now who had planned on getting them done in the spring we feel a great honor and responsibility maybe more than usual to make this chapter of the senior year as normal and special as possible.  Nothing can dull our shine on our senior sessions, especially with a remarkable young lady like this one!  A talented artist, athletic, smart, beautiful inside and out and off to Columbia University In The City Of New York in the fall to study political science – this girl is going to change the world!

So let’s get to some highlights!

Okay how adorable is she?  Love this idea with her books and the Columbia gear – one benefit of these senior sessions later in the year is our seniors know where they are going so we can have a little fun with some school spirit!

Yanni also brought her would-be-prom dress for a really cool idea to combine it with the graduation cap and stole!  Love it – we have some behind the scenes fun from this on our Facebook livestream!
